Henry Ford OptimEyes in Westland, Michigan

I've been going to Henry Ford OptimEyes in Westland Michigan for my yearly check up, contacts and glasses ever since my eye doctor moved there. Located right behind Westland Mall, near Wayne road, they are very convenient and easy to get to. For awhile there I was able to go to any doctor and therefore had various doctors check my eyes, but in the last few years I've had VSP insurance and therefore had to use Dr. Hagemann. In all my experiences, I've never had any major problems with OptimEyes, but there have been a few minor ones.

The Wait Time is one of the reasons they are not 5 stars all the time. Today for my appointment I actually got taken early and didn't have to wait much at all, but in the past I've had to wait for a long time. There were times where I waited for 15 minutes past my appointment just to be taken to ANOTHER waiting room where I waited another 15, just to be taken to a patient room where I waited for the Doctor for another 10-15. That's 45 minutes of waiting. However, I've learned to avoid the busy times. Currently I aim for Monday appointments, preferable later at night. They are open from 8AM - 9PM on weekdays so even if you work you can find a good time to go.

There are lots of doctors, so you can often get in almost anytime you want. However, if you have VSP like I do then you can only go on Monday and Friday as that is the only time that Dr. Hagemann is in the office. Even though it takes me about a month to get an appointment, I've never had any problems getting one. I am always prepared and make sure I make the appointment in advanced before I run out of contacts. I like that their doctors are consistently the same year after year, at least Dr. Hagemann is still there! For every other insurance, there are plenty of doctors and appointment times so you should have no problem getting in. They have lots of employees that do the check in, check out, and initial vision tests so most of the time you aren't left waiting too long.

OptimEyes helped me pick out the glasses I love. I've always trusted OptimEyes to help me find the ideal glasses for me. My husband and I both went in there without a lot of ideas as far as what we liked, and the salesmen at OptimEyes were able to pick out various pairs for us to try so that in the end we both loved what we purchased. They didn't try to pressure us into spending more and started with glasses that were in our budget. They did show us some options outside of our budget, but if we said NO, they didn't try to push the issue.

The price may be high, depending on what you need and on your insurance. Some friends of mine keep telling me that I should go someplace cheaper, even though none of them have been to OptimEyes; they just assume it's more expensive. Well I know I could probably get discounts elsewhere; there is something to be said about trusting the place I go to. With the Henry Ford name on it, I just feel that OptimEyes is full of skilled professionals that know what they are doing and know what I want. A few times I browsed the glasses selections at those mall eyeglass shops and never found any frames that I really liked.

I can't be sure if I would really save elsewhere, but considering I only buy new contacts every other year, I think I'll stick with the place I trust. OptimEyes has everything - late hours, trusty doctors, and lots of knowledgeable employees. Check out OptimEyes in Westland today and enjoy!
