Henry Hands France World Cup Ticket- Ireland Robbed

Ireland's Way to the World Cup Denied by Platini

Henry's 'handjob' enables William Gallas to 'head' France to the World Cup in South Africa. The relief of that goal didn't bring the expected happy end though as even the French supporters and their national newspapers acknowledged the Irish supremacy , being left with a sorrow taste after admitting that their own star studded team had to be helped by a higher force.
This higher power as always in this encounters where one team has to be nurtured , came from Northern Europe. In this case it was Swedish referee Martin Hansson , helped at the lines by his fellow countrymen Stefan Wittberg and Fredrik Nilsson.
Uefa's silent reaction following the dreadful refereeing in France's 1-1 draw at home against Ireland only accentuates the claims of foul play .
There's no realistic possibility of the match being replayed because the ' Hand of God' is French. And by God i mean UEFA's president Michel Platini. Everything started with Uefa's last minute decision to seed teams before the playoffs for the World Cup. Obviously France was seeded and hence it could avoid more dangerous opponents like Portugal or Russia.
It's sad to see that a world class team like France led by an under average coach , Raymond Domenech was able to overcome an average Irish team managed by an excellent coach ,Giovanni Trapattoni.

Economically FIFA and UEFA couldn't handle a World Cup without a top team like France. Only the English fans will contribute more to Blatter's pockets and the South African economy than the French will. Russia bowed out in favor of underdogs Slovenia and the same didn't happen to Portugal, who defeated Bosnia to book their place to the major event of next year. After France's game, noone noticed that the Portuguese were also favored by the ref, not in such an obvious manner as the Les Bleus, but it was still clear that Bosnia had to fight against 12 men. Every debatable call went Portugal's way which led to increased frustration among the Bosnian players, Hoffenheim's Salihovic being sent off in the second half after vehemently protesting against a referee's decision.

Hat's off to a brave Irish team who outplayed an individual more technical team but eventually proved to be too small to represent Europe at the World Cup. So, if Europe's financially less important and influential countries want to be sure of a place to the next World Cup , they just have to request a move to the Oceania or Asia qualifying zones. There are two spots available , as Kazahstan moved to Europe and Australia to the Asian zone.

Only one question remains unanswered , who will replace Henry in the Gillette ads in Ireland???
