The label states that the soda contains the flavors of fresh Oregon Bing and Black cherries as well as black raspberry and bourbon vanilla.
The drink is caffeine free.
The bottle cap reads "You Can't Top This" and in my opinion, as far as black cherry sodas are concerned I agree.
Bottled in glass, once the top is popped, the aroma of cherries explodes out of the bottle.
The taste is smooth clean and crisp. Oh and very cherry.
Once again I convinced a trusting coworker to sample the soda and her conclusion was also positive.
There was no after taste however the taste buds were left craving more.
The label indicates that the drink has been around since 1856.
A search of Wikipedia shows that the soda's creator was a German- American brewer in the state of Oregon who was born in 1830 and passed away in 1904.
He seems to be best known for a line of beers still brewed today.
The company offers other sodas in addition to black cherry cream. They are orange cream and root beer.
The bottle I obtained was bottled at the Blitz -Weinhard Gourmet Soda Co. in Fort Worth, Texas.
For bottle collectors, the bottle resembles a Miller High Life bottle.
The label displays a portrait of Weinhard and cherries highlighted both on the label and the bottle neck.
For fun I tried pouring some of the soda over vanilla ice cream.
Once again the result was a hit with the taste buds and what is turning into a growing waist line.
Nutrition facts listed on the cream soda are: 175 calories per bottle, 42 grams of sugar and 42 total carbs.
In conclusion, if you like cherries and you like soda, this is the perfect combination for you.

Post a CommentI'll have to try this. Henry Weinhard's is my favorite root beer, and I like cherry cream soda, so I'm guessing I'd really like this. Thanks!
If you like the taste of Henry's Black Cherry Cream, try this delicious variation...add a little 1/2 and 1/2 Ctram to your soda! WOW, intense Black Cherry and Cream all in one...smooth and creamy. A real treat for the taste buds.
Though I'm not a big pop drinker, cream soda is my favorite! Adding cherry to it sounds delicious.
