I found myself unable to put down the novella "Her Boyfriend's Boyfriend," penned by erotic romance veteran Cheryl Dragon. I even opted to stay at home for a night to finish reading this hot ménage story, which is pretty rare for me after years of reading all flavors of romance novels.
Cassie and Neil are rich and of course attractive New Yorkers who have finally found love. Cassie had problems with men wanting her money, but because Neil is rich, handsome, and caring she is settling into comfort with her lover. But things have cooled down a bit in the bedroom, and Cassie doesn't realize that the reason is her boyfriend's "gay" friend Lou is really bisexual - and so is Neil.
When Neil walks in on a hot moment between Lou and Cassie (which to the character's credit seems destined to fizzle out due to loyalty to Neil) the truth comes out. Neil and Lou were lovers for years and shared one-night stands with a number of women. But when Neil met Cassie, he decided he would play it straight. He was afraid for his business, and also sure Cassie would never accept a ménage or his bisexuality.
But he was wrong.
This whole novella is steaming hot. Not only do all three characters explore their most carnal desires, they all are genuinely in love with each other. Ms. Dragon has a real flair for writing both male and male, male and female, and male-female-male erotic scenes, which I have found can be somewhat challenging for even the most seasoned author. "Her Boyfriend's Boyfriend" has three key characters, and the few supporting characters all have a very focused place within the story. The novella is a fast and exhilarating read, and will probably leave many fans wishing they had two sexy men available to service their desires for both love and passion.
Those who are offended by graphic descriptions of sexual acts probably are not looking for a ménage story, but of course it does merit a mention in case some of the steamier words are not your heart's desire. However, keep in mind this is definitely not pornographic; there is a plot and it moves realistically and works well thanks to Ms. Dragon's passion for telling Cassie, Neil, and Lou's story.
As with every erotic romance novel, there are of course the usual challenges to overcome that threaten this threesome from staying together. Yet this delightful blend of love (and lust) conquers all makes "Her Boyfriend's Boyfriend" a read as fiery as Cassie's red hair.
