Herbal Essences Pin Straight Shampoo and Conditioner Gives Amazing Results!

I have to say, when I was asked to review the new Herbal Essences "Pin Straight" formula, I was immediately skeptical. In the last decade since straight hair became 'in' I have probably spent thousands of dollars on product trying to help straighten my hair. Salon brands, special blends, drugstore formulas, I have tried it all. And some worked better than others, but they really didn't make all that much difference in the natural texture of my hair.

My hair is long, coarse, thick and very wavy. It's also color treated, so right off the bat, there's a challenge to finding a product that will address all of those issues. Recently I had all but given up even trying to have straight hair. No matter what shampoo or conditioner I used, having straight hair always meant an hour with a hair dryer followed by a half hour with a flat iron. The 90 minute minimum just wasn't worth it for me anymore. I embraced my wavy hair and gave up on ever going straight again.

So I tried the Herbal Essences "Pin Straight" with very low expectations. I'll even admit, I'm a shampoo snob, and knowing it is a discount brand also lowered the bar for performance a bit. I began to call it a failure as soon as I attempted to wash my hair with this formula. It's thick. Very thick. Probably the thickest formula I've ever used.

The first time I used the Shampoo and Conditioner, I let my hair simply air dry. I wanted to see what it did to my hair's natural texture And I have to tell you, I was totally blown away. It didn't take the wave out of my hair completely, but it definitely relaxed the parts of it that are always hard to uncurl. The texture was smoother, and there was no frizz whatsoever. If anything it worked too well and took all of the body out of my hair!

The second time I used it, I decided to straighten my hair afterward. I did my usual routine with the hair dryer, and was shocked that my drying time was cut by probably 75% and there was really no need to go back over the blowout with a flat iron. It was the best my hair had looked straight in a very long time. It was shiny, smooth, and best of all didn't take me much longer than 20 minutes to style.

So my verdict is Herbal Essences "Pin Straight" is amazing. Like I said, it almost works too well because it does such a great job smoothing out hair, it takes out all of the body. But if it's straight hair you've been looking for, this is definitely the formula to try!
