Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse: Salon Quality Hair Product at a Drugstore Price

Allison West
I've never been a big fan of styling products like hairspray and mousse; in my opinion they often lead to that "helmet head" look. I have really long hair which I often wear straight, so hair products like mousse haven't been a big part of my beauty routine.

Recently, I wanted to add some lift and volume to my hair, so I purchased Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse. I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing results I had with this hair care product. My hair was soft, touchable and had incredible volume and shine after using Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse, and the price was quite a bargain.

Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse Gives Hair Amazing Lift and Hold

I decided to try Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse because I'm a big fan of Clairol Herbal Essences products, like the Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy shampoo.

After shampooing my hair (with Clairol Herbal Essences Color Me Happy shampoo) I squeezed out a golf ball sized amount of Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse into my hand, worked it through the ends of my damp, towel dried hair, and then applied some to my roots. I immediately noticed that Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse had a light, pleasant fragrance; I appreciate that because I sometimes have allergies to harsh ingredients in some beauty products.

After working Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse through my hair, I was concerned I had used too much and my hair would be tacky and weighted down, or too sticky. But Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse seemed to absorb nicely into my hair without making it feel coated or too heavy.

I turned on some heat with a blow dryer and used a soft brush to lift hair at my root line, and then I put a few big rollers on my ends and also applied heat to my hair to set the curls. After letting my hair cool a bit, I removed the rollers and styled the front of my hair.

I was delighted with the results. Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse seemed to lock the curls in place, yet my hair was touchable and had a lot of shine and movement. I also had nice lift and hold at the crown of my head, something I really appreciate with my fine straight hair.

My mother also uses this product on her very short hairstyle. She applies at the roots to create lift and hold waves in place, and the product also works beautifully for her. Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse works just great on short hairstyles as it does on long hair and is a very versatile product.

Mom did tell me that she experienced some stinging and burning of her scalp with Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse (which contains ingredients cactus flower, bamboo, and citric acid.) She had no soreness or scalp irritation before using Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse, yet the product did cause some uncomfortable burning sensations. If you are very sensitive, you may wish to do a patch test or select a different mousse for your styling needs.

Where to Buy Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse

Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse is available at grocery stores and drugstores nationwide. I got an incredible deal on Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse at my local Price Chopper Supermarket, where the product was on sale (two for $5!) Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse usually costs about $3.18 at my local Wal-Mart, and you can sometimes find incredible deals on this hair care product at drugstore.com.

If you're not a big fan of styling products, but you need a little lift, volume and hold in your summer hairstyles, try Herbal Essences Set Me Up Mousse. The price is outstanding and the results are superb (don't forget to look for the other great, affordable hair care products in the Clairol Herbal Essences line.)
