There are over 150 symptoms related to PMS. These symptoms generally present themselves from 3-10 days prior to menstruation and start after ovulation. This is the time of the months in a women's body, when the chemistry changes drastically. Calcium and magnesium levels begin to fall. Estrogen levels rise and progesterone levels decrease, wreaking havoc on our bodies at times. Your immunity is also lowered during this time of the month and you are more susceptible to colds, arthritis and herpes flare ups as well as allergies. Stress, exercise, caffeine and alcohol consumption can also contribute to PMS symptoms.
