Some herbs can also be eaten for a more direct and fast result. Some can be added to a netti pot and put into the nose to help the sinuses drain, as well.

Grindelia

The flowering top and leaves of the grindelia plant are used as medicinal herbs for asthma, bronchitis, bladder infections, poison ivy and poison oak, psoriasis, and skin disorders.

Wild cherry

The bark of the wild cherry tree is great for asthma, bronchitis, cough, fever, hypertension, mucosal inflammation with discharge, and is also used as an expectorant.

Mullein

The mullein plant is used for asthma, bleeding in bowel and lungs, earache, gout, hemorrhoids, insomnia, lymphatic system, nervousness, pain, pleurisy, sinus congestion, and tuberculosis.

Coltsfoot

The buds, flowers, & leaves of this herb are great for asthma, bronchitis, dry cough, hay fever, lung disorders, excess mucus and throat irritation.

Bayberry

The bark , berries, and root bark of the bayberry plant are used for their medicinal properties in aiding cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, glands, goiter, indigestion, jaundice, excessive menstruation, scrofuloderma & uterine hemorrhage, as well as clearing the sinuses.

Eyebright

The eyebright plant is used for blood cleansing, cataracts, colds, conjunctivitis, eye disorders and infections, and stimulating liver function., as well as clearing gunked up sinus passages.

Horseradish (Armoracia lapathiofolis)

Horseradish is used for bladder disorders, brittle nails, glandular disorders, internal bleeding, nosebleeds, poor circulation, tuberculosis, and urinary disorders, as well as for clearing the sinuses of irritants .

Lettuce

The juice and leaves of lettuce are used as an anodyne, antispasmodic, expecotorant, and sedative. Common garden lettuce is harvested after it has gone to seed, and a milky juice is extracted.

Blue vervain

The blue vervain plant is used for asthma, bladder and bowel disorders, bronchitis, colds, convulsions, cough, fever, insomnia, pulmonary tuberculosis, stomach upset, and worms.
