A dieter has no need to invest in an expensive menu plan. Some simple tips to follow are: eat slower, eat less, and do not snack between meals. Replace sweets and snacks such as cookies and candy bars with fresh fruits and vegetables. Eliminate fried foods, reduce the consumption of high carb foods, reduce consumption of red meat, eat more chicken and grilled fish. Invest in a calorie counter and become more educated in how to invest calories by logging then in a note book. Don't be a poor loser, learning new habits takes time, so just try again tomorrow. All or nothing thinking is the reason so many life style changes fail.
Element two in a successful wight loss program is replacing body fluids. When the body burns fat there is a need to increase fluids to flush it from the system. The average person needs a minimum of eight glasses of water a day. Those who are on a diet will need to increase this from ten to twelve glasses. Replace sugary soft drinks with mineral water or herbal tea. People who drink a glass of water before each meal also eat less. Invest in a juicer and increase vitamin intake by liquefying fruits and vegetables. Remember Pop-eye and add plenty of spinach. Many women who diet become anemic and go off their diet because they are tired. So, a multi-vitamin is also recommended when flushing the system.
Element three in a successful weight program is exercise. The easiest and healthiest way to burn calories is to rev up the old metabolism. The most important muscle to exercise is the mind: EXER-PSYCH. Specifically, spend twenty minutes a day to give your self a pep talk. Change the way you see yourself and plan for a rewards along the way. Don't plan a new wardrobe. The weight is lost, the clothes are bought, then you gain the weight back. Bad plan. Changing channels on the remote control won't substitute for a work out, either. My mother says the healthy man can be identified by what is taken two at a time: stairs or pills. The best exercise, though, consists of placing two hands on the edge of the table and pushing back.. Join a group that involves fun exercise. That's different for different people. Belly dance is a blast, rock climbing brings some higher, and sight seeing can be a romantic date.
When starting a weight loss program don't think of it as dieting. Think of it as rewarding yourself with a healthier life-style. You deserve it! Remember, there are three elements to a successful weight loss program: reduce calories, increase fluids, and exercise. With a change of life-style anyone can become a happy loser!
