So here is what you need while making wax candles.First you will need some Wax - Paraffin wax or Beeswax. Then a mold - Rigid and Flexible (Ready made) molds are available in different shapes and sizes.
Of course you will need some wicks and perhaps a wicking needle, this depends on your method of candle making. You will also need a mold seal, a brush or two, some oil, candle dyes, and a double boiler. All of these are easily available in the market making wax candles an easier process on the whole.
Procedure to making wax candles is fairly simple.Lightly brush the mold that you are using for making the wax candle with oil. Blot excess away with paper. Prime the wick. 'Priming' is dipping the wick three to four times in boiling wax at equal intervals to get a coating of wax over it. This makes the wick stand straight. This is a far easier process to use while making wax candles, than threading the wick through a mold.
Suspend the wick vertically in the mold by tying it to a split cane or a toothpick. Cut off excess wick and stand or balance the mold in an upright position. In a double boiler or a bowl over a pan of simmering water melt he wax. While making wax candles, it's important to stir in the candle dye if you are using any, until it is evenly distributed.
Pour the melted wax into mold allowing it to settle. When a cavity has formed around the wick, carefully top off with more melted wax and allow it to harden overnight.
To release the candle from a rigid mold turn it upside down and give it a gentle tap.
And there you have a creation of beauty that by it self is a work of art as well as a source of light when the time calls for it.
