There is a growing popularity amongst high fashion designers to produce versatile head gear. From high fashion Fedora's to classic Cowboy hats, designers are rapidly filling a demand for the attractive of hats. Coach, for example comes out with a stylish monogrammed bucket hat. Unlike the plain khaki and tattered bucket hat made popular by Gilligan's Island, bucket hats today are very popular and sell quickly.
Designers today are finding creative ways to make these old school hats dating all the way back to the early 1800's, fresh and trendy. A prime example is the cowboy hat. It is seeing a renewed popularity that goes way beyond the borders of the south and cow studded cowboys. They grace store shelves in a variety of colors, sizes, shapes and an array of embellishments.
The Newsboy cap also finds a reoccurring theme in the fashion world. In a variety of fabrics like wool, corduroy, fur, and angora to name a few, the Newsboy is a great looking sophisticated winter hat. The wool hat is popular across the board. It is both stylish and funky to the skier or snowboarder and practical to Wall Street executive who may prefer to wear the wool hat with a slight brim. The toque which is similar to the skull cap is a great alternative to a warm and attractive hat. Of course it may be more appealing to the younger generation or outdoorsmen.
Cold and blistering weather isn't the only time of year to grab that hat. During the summer the bucket hat is a must on the beach. It is a necessary accessory to swim gear, cover-ups, wraps and sleek shades. Half bucket hats are becoming a craze with designs and prints specially designed for the beach.
Bucket hats may be best suited for the beach, but those sunny days at the park call for the one hat that never seems to go out of style. The baseball cap! It is extremely popular and has changed styles several times over the years. It is safe to say the baseball hat is the most worn by all age groups, income levels and at all different types of events.
The most popular style for the baseball hat is the sideline which often advertises the name of your favorite baseball team, company logo, or clothing label. It is typically worn at sporting events from the bleachers or sidelines - and that's how it earned its name. Other styles include the fitted flexible athletic cap and the trucker mesh hat, typically large and oversized for protection from the sun.
If it's protection from the sun, insulation from the cold, or to add to a funky outfit, there are a variety of hats to choose from. So don't wait for that bad hair day to reach into the closet and dust off the brim of one of those old outdated hats, stack up on style and improve your attire with an appealing, classic, or practical hat. Let's face it folk, a hat is so much more than the disguise of a bad hair day.
