In my backyard.
His name is Herman Green.
He's the ugliest monster
That I've ever seen.
He has scales all over his body.
His nose is long and red.
He has a narrow tail.
He has an enormous head.
Herman loves to talk.
He makes silly, garbled sounds.
It's great having a monster like Herman
To play and mess around.
Herman likes to play kick ball.
He also likes to kick the cat.
The other day Herman brought to me
The body of a hideous rat.
If you ever come to visit,
Make sure you give Herman a high five.
If you should forget to do this,
You might not leave here alive.
