Close to Schools, Easy Access, Nice Homes

Hermitage Subdivision is located in a very central location in St. Charles with easy access to all major roadways. With one entrance of the subdivision at Muegge and the other at Hackman Road you can gain access to Highway 94 or 364 (the Page Extension) within a minute or two. You can also get to Interstate 70 at Cave Springs via Muegge, which can take about 5 minutes.

This subdivision is very established with slightly older homes, most of which are average to just above average ranch style homes. It is tucked in a group of newer neighborhoods that branch off from the older section. It also leads into an older neighborhood that is slightly more dilapidated, but the separation is pretty clear. You almost have to look at a map of the subdivision and the surrounding area then drive it to really understand what I am talking about.

Most of the homes have above average size lots in front, back, and on the sides. Several of the homes have a modern day cabin look to them, which brings a cozy country feel to the neighborhood. The main road does not have a sidewalk on either side. However, they have made an attempt to provide a bike path with a solid white line on one side of the street for pedestrians who are either on foot or on a bike.

If School district is important for you, this is a great subdivision. It is located adjacent to the Francis Howell High School with the elementary and middle school also in the Francis Howell School District. The boundaries for the schools indicate that children in the Hermitage neighborhood would attend Henderson Elementary, Hollenbeck Middle, or Francis Howell North High School depending on the age of the child. Because boundaries sometimes change, you should verify this with the district by visiting their websites subdivision/street address guide at http://sup.fhsdschools.org/streetlist.asp or by calling the Francis Howell School district directly at 636-851-4000. Their main website is located at http://www.fhsdschools.org/.

One detractor about this subdivision is that it creates several shortcuts using back roads from Jungerman to Hackman and Hackman to Muegge, so the main road as well as some side streets will get a bit of drive through traffic.

If you have small children or teenage girls, you may also want to investigate the area for any potential dangers. It is a very good idea to know who is living in and around your neighborhood. In Missouri, you can check the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sex Offender Registry, so you are aware of any potential dangers that might exist in an area you are giving consideration to. You can view the Sex Offender Registry for that area by going to the following website: http://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSHPWeb/PatrolDivisions/CRID/SOR/SORPage.html. When you get to the website, agree to their disclaimer by selecting "I Agree" then type in your zip code. A list will pop up of registered offenders in your area that will provide you with detailed information about where they live and even provide a photo so you can show your child to be cautious of these individuals.
