Hero

Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot

Arkay Evans
I know the hero brings me peace,
even as my flesh is weak,

and I already know the play-
After awhile, it begins to feel the same,
trying to avoid the pain of change;
and accepting the madness of
the same old same,

So what's the fuss with the name of Jesus?

Warriors say
they glorify a name that
signifies all they could never do,
Taking one for a losing team
that spat on him and booed,
Would you suffer to bring peace
to the very hearts
betraying you?

We judge folks for less than such,
refuse to let Love work through us,
thus the name of Jesus is the best place
to keep your trust,
meaning as much as all the love one feels
in a single human touch,

The Prince of Peace, the Savior;
with the right hand of God as the elevator
lifting the hearts of intelligent apes
inhabiting this earthly place
from lovin' the life of an uninformed hater,

so we never need make
a sacrifice as great, as he
who gave his life to bring beauty to a world
he could not escape,
Heros use their faith to show their thanks,
and action with honor pulls rank, as
Jesus is the reason we're afforded this grace,

There is power in self acceptance, and
Change in receiving this gift of release,
till love reaches out from the inside
and brings the spirit
peace

The Jesus I know,
is my hero.
