The story starts with the Griffin Empire celebrating the soon to be wed Emperor Nicolai and his sweety pie, Isabel. Unfortunately, Demons decide to appear and ruin the party. Darn Demons. Nickolai must take his army to war against the demons while Isabel is sent away to hide in safety at Summer Place.
The war is not going so well for Nicolai. Isabel decides that she and her escorts must seek out help. Isabel rides the countryside in search of people to recruit to form militia. Her escort, Godric, seeks the help of the Mages of Shining Cities. Her other escort, Beatrice, seeks the help of the Elven armies of Irollan. Somewhere in the shadows, an evil plot is afoot.
Heroes of Might and Magic V features the new Dynamic battle system. The game involves strategic and tactical battles that are played over a turn based battle field. This allows you to plan out the moves you plan to make rather than just going all out crazy. Over 30 missions and 6 campaigns make up the main story of the game.
You have a choice of many things to aid you in battle. This includes 200 skills, 40 spells, 170 creatures' abilities, and more. All of this can be found in the new world of Heroes of Might and Magic V. There are also a total of 6 factions and 80 different creatures. Utilize all of this to build your armies and save the land!
The world of Heroes of Might and Magic V is medieval themed. The expansive 3D environments are quite colorful and highly detailed. The game play is fast paced and flows quite nicely. Lastly, the soundtrack will engage you as you travel the immense and vast lands.
Aside from the campaign mode, there is also a dual mode and a multiplayer mode. If you have played the previous versions of Heroes of Might and Magic, some of these changes and additions may at first seem unwelcome. But as you play in this new world, you will find yourself heavily enthralled.
Heroes of Might and Magic V is available for PC only. It has an ESRB rating of T for teen. This is because the game features blood, mild language, suggestive themes, and fantasy violence. A strategy guide is available for those of you who want to squeeze every last detail out of the game.
