Heroes Returns with a Few Familiar Faces

Bruce Boxleitner

Bruce Boxleitner is joining the cast of Heroes this fall. Mike Ausiello (formerly from TV Guide and now from Entertainment Weekly) first reported this a few weeks ago. While there isn't a lot known about Boxleitner's role, we do know he is going to be playing a Senator. Viewers may remember Boxleitner from his roles in the 80s where he was partner with Kenny Rogers (The Gambler) and Kate Jackson (The Scarecrow and Mrs. King) as well as in the 90s (Babylon 5) where he made his mark in science fiction history as Captain John Sheridan.

We can speculate a great deal about what Boxleitner's role will actually be and who he will be involved with. I am hoping he has something to do with The Company, personally or maybe he's going to be involved with Nathan (is he still a congressman?) or a love interest for Mrs. Petrelli (can you see her sons?) Or maybe his role will be something else all together. Does he have powers? Is he a part of a committee setting out to track down our erstwhile heroes and dastardly villains?

William Katt

How fun! In the latest casting news of the last couple of weeks, William Katt (The Greatest American Hero) has been cast on Heroes. He'll be appearing early in the season (as early as episode 2) and will be playing a seedy reporter. He'll also be interacting with one of the 'regulars,' but rather than spoil anything more, I'll leave it at that. For those of you too young to remember The Greatest American Hero, it was a show in the early 80s that didn't last very long. It comes from the same era that brought us MacGyver and A-Team.

Francis Capra

Francis Capra (Veronica Mars' Weevil) is joining Heroes. Currently, all that we know about his role is that his name is Jesse. TVGuide reported that there are two things they know about Jesse.

· Jesse's a villain.

· He's going to cross (swords, paths, something) with Peter Petrelli.

True, this isn't much to go on, but the season is called Villains, so there's a good chance that a lot of the casting will be for the Villain roles. I will say that I am holding out for Capra's Jesse to be reunited with Veronica Mars herself in the form of Kristen Bell's Elle.
