The story of this series, is about many normal people, who had been living a normal life, until they awoke a power inside of them. Some have been able to time travel, some could regenerate and some could read other's mind. Soon, someone comes to one of the heroes and tells them 'Save the cheerleader, save the world' which connects to a big explosion that will destroy New York. This is where the big plot starts.
The series introduces many different characters, all with an interesting background and goal. The series is made to be like a comic book, where the people realize their great talent and use it for good or bad. Everyone except one or two people in the series are good, so don't expect, like in a comic book, to see multiple baddies attacking the good guys.
The show has some suspense as well as nice twists to make things even more interesting. This just makes you want to watch more and more to see what happens next. You'll want to keep watching to see why the cheerleader or known as Claire, is the one who will save the world. You'll want to know what happens to Hiro Nakamura, the japanese character, who we see speaking japanese in the show. You won't get lost, you won't get scared but you will get alot of suspense. There isn't much action, this isn't for you action hardcores. If you don't like movies with open endings, this isn't exacly for you, each episode gets a 'to be continued...' since it is indeed part of the plot. The 'to be continued...' is to keep you on the line of suspense, making you thirsty for more. In all good time, you will understand what happened to these character and why. If you do not like characters dying off, you won't like this. There is mild blood and some gore, like when the baddy in the show, Sylar, who steals powers, cuts people's head open to take their powers away. Don't worry you won't see it all. And if you do, it will be only a small glimpse. The show is like a mystery, where a character learns more of their powers or about what is really going on. An interesting character, is Isaac, who can paint the futur. The reason why this is interesting? Because this character, paints the futur, he warns people and shows people that something bad is going to happen.
If you aren't much of an action fan, love suspense and like the super powers type of thing, this is the show for you. For one thing, I am that type of person. If you aren't you can try watching the first episode, the official site offers free streaming of the episodes, which are a length of 40 minutes each. Keep watching to learn the story!
