Heroes... Ordinary people with extrordinary powers. If you haven't heard the phrase "Save the cheerleader, save the world", then you don't know what you are missing. Heroes is televisions newest drama on NBC and has captured a huge following. The last episode "Fallout" aired on Monday December 4th 2006 with an audience of over 15.5 million viewers. The show is on a midseason break, but no worries you can catch up on the episodes that you might have missed by watching Heroes reruns on the SCIFI channel.

Heroes is a new television drama that is written by Tim Kring who was also the creator of Crossing Jordan, and airs on NBC at 9pm Eastern time. Heroes is a drama about normal people that discover that they have extrodinary abilities. The son of a prominent geneticist continues his fathers research and seeks to find the missing link in teh genetic code and track down the individuals with the special abilities after his father is murdered. As the story unfolds, each individual with a special ability plays a key role in helping to save the world. Isaac Mendez can paint the future when he is high, Peter Petrelli can mimick others abilities when he is around them, Nathan Petrelli can fly, Niki Sanders has an alter ego with a sinister personality and a deadly side. Hiro Nakumura can stop time and travel through it. Claire Benet is a 17 year old cheerleader who feels no pain and can rejenerate. There are other characters with abilites that are less prominent, but there is also an evil villian who seeks to destroy the heroes and take their abilities for himself. His name is Sylar.

The Heroes cross paths in unexpected ways and learn that they have a much higher purpose and must come together to save New York city from a nuclear expolsion. The final episode before the season break was aired on December 4th, 2006 and this episode definitely went out with a bang! I won't give away all of the details if you haven't seen it yet but the end of the show will leave you hanging on and begging for more.

Heroes is a drama unlike any other. The characters are well written, deeply emotional, and engaging. Each episode leaves you hungry for more. Tim Kring has constructed a stirring plot that is supported by strong characters and climactic events. If you have not seen this series from the beginning, I strongly suggest you catch up on the episodes either on the SCI FI channel or on NBC's fansite for Heroes. 15.5 million viewers can't be wrong!
