Hershey's Ice Cream Chocolate Sundae

Consumer Product Review

Thomas J McCabe

In the Hartford, Connecticut neighborhood where I live, there are several small, corner grocery stores that regularly stock and sell Hershey's Ice Cream products. A couple of days ago, I purchased and ate a single serving sized Hershey's Chocolate Sundae for the first time and I'm very glad that I did so.

This ice cream treat seems like a good product to review. Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines the single serving sized Hershey's Chocolate Sundae.

Size
The net weight of the standard sized Hershey's Chocolate Sundae is six fluid ounces. One sundae counts as one serving. In physical size, the sundae measures approximately 3.5" x 2".

While this sundae is not huge in size, it is a big enough dessert to satisfy my appetite and sweet cravings when I eat one of them after a meal.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one Hershey's Chocolate Sundae at Hartford, Connecticut area convenience stores and other food retailers ranges between $0.99c and $1.29. Hershey's Ice Cream products are always very reasonably priced.

Consistency / Texture
Smooth, creamy and refreshing are words that instantly come to mind when describing Hershey's Chocolate Sundae. While this sundae is stripped down and basic in nature, it really doesn't need any more ingredients. The delicious simplicity of this item is quite satisfying and it makes me realize that a lot of extra ingredients that are included in many ice cream sundaes are superfluous.

Nutritional Facts
Hershey's Chocolate Sundae contains 320 calories, with 100 calories from fat, per six fluid ounce serving. This product also contains 7 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 11 grams total fat, 45 mg of cholesterol, 170 mg of sodium, 37 grams total carbohydrates, less than 1 gram of dietary fiber, 34 grams of sugars and 4 grams of protein, per one sundae serving.

Taste / Flavor
The two basic flavors in the Hershey's Chocolate Sundae, vanilla ice cream and real chocolate fudge, are quite tasty on their own, but when combined, they are extremely tasty. Like every other Hershey's Ice Cream product I have eaten, the ice cream is very smooth and creamy and offers a clean and comforting flavor.

When I first started eating this sundae, I thought there was only a minimal amount of chocolate fudge offered. It wasn't until I was about halfway through the sundae that I realized the bottom of the sundae was coated with chocolate fudge, also. The alternating fudge, ice cream and fudge presents an interesting and tasty way of enjoying the pleasing flavors.

Packaging
Hershey's Chocolate Sundae is packaged in clear, round plastic bowl type of container. The container is easy to open and it also re-closes effectively. The vanilla ice cream in this sundae is piped into the bowl, with attractive peaks formed at the top of the mass of ice cream.

Situated at the center of the sundae is a circle of fudge topping and the bottom of the bowl features an additional layer of fudge topping.

Overall Rating
This inexpensively priced ice cream sundae is a good old fashioned frozen treat that is quite satisfying. Stocked at sold at convenience stores and small food retailers across America, Hershey's Chocolate Sundae is highly recommended by this food writer.
