Hey Over There

Steven Jacob Borthick
To you on the other side of the street
Across from my isolated parking lot
You all see me as a loner
You don't talk to me because I'm quiet
But please reach out and keep reaching
When I lash out, from anger and hurt
When you become my friend
You'll see I'm a nice guy
Just socially awkward
But with help from my new friends
I'll learn.

Life is very different for people prone to introversion. It is, of course, not an illness, just a different temperament than those who are more spontaneously outgoing.
