Hezbollah Assassinated Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri & Policeman Wissam Eid: Where is the Justice?

Has Hezbollah ensured that the word most closely associated with Lebanon is assassination? Hezbollah is now part of the Lebanese government. However, this terrorist organization does not have the best interests of Lebanon at heart.

Hezbollah wants power and it uses violence to obtain its goals. Hezbollah is a Machiavellian organization led by thugs who have close ties to Iran. The head of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, is but a puppet for the president of Iran.

In the years since the February 14, 2005 assassination of Rafiq Hariri, Hezbollah has consistently denied involvement in the crime. Hezbollah blames Israel for Hariri's murder.

And now Hezbollah is making threats about violence should the UN Special Tribunal attempt to call any Hezbollah member guilty of the crime. It is sad that Hezbollah would threaten its own country with violence.

UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon: Leaked Documents Link Hezbollah to Hariri Assassination

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) reports that in investigating the murder of Rafiq Hariri "evidence gathered by Lebanese police and, much later, the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon, points overwhelmingly that the assassins were from Hezbollah."

Cell Phone Clues to the Murder of Rafiq Hariri

The UN Commission analyzed records of all of the phone calls made in Lebanon during the year of the Hariri assassination. CBC reports that the investigators identified eight cell phones that had been "shadowing" Hariri preceding his murder.

A Lebanese policeman, Wissam Eid, had also linked the cell phone calls to Hezbollah. And he noted that after the assassination the phones linked to Hezbollah in the attack were not used again.

Each member of the Hezbollah team allegedly carried a second phone too. The Hezbollah member who later collected the phones used one of them to call his girlfriend. This clue gave investigators a link to Hezbollah for this crime.

Phone records of the day of the assassination of the prime minister of Lebanon, Rafiq Hariri, indicate that leaders of Hezbollah talked with the owners of the mobile phones used to detail the location of Rafiq Hariri to prepare for the detonation of the car bomb that was involved in the assassination.

All of the cell phones linked to the attack were later linked via phone records to land line phones used by Hezbollah at the Great Prophet Hospital, located in South Beirut. This part of Beirut is under the power of Hezbollah.

It is despicable that Hezbollah has used a post at a hospital as a place to use phones to carry out the attack on Rafiq Hariri. Hezbollah dishonors the people of Lebanon with this horrible behavior.

Hezbollah Warns Wissam Eid

Wissam Eid was eventually contacted by Hezbollah as he was investigating the phones linked to the assassination of Rafiq Hariri. Hezbollah informed him that the phones under investigation were under use to link the operation to the Mossad in Israel, notes CBC. Eid was told by Hezbollah to drop his investigation.

Shortly after that warning the man Eid worked for, Lt. Col. Shehadeh was hit with a car bomb. He survived the attack and left Lebanon.

Wissam Eid, of the Lebanese police, eventually met with the UN investigators to discuss his findings of the link of Hezbollah to the Hariri assassination. Just eight days later Wissam Eid was killed by a car bomb.

Hezbollah uses bombs to send messages. This message was loud and clear. If you link Hezbollah to the assassination of Hariri you too will be killed. How many more people will die as the tribunal deems Hezbollah guilty of assassination?

Wissam Eid was a hero for the work he did to investigate who killed the prime minister of Lebanon, Rafiq Hariri. His brave work helps Lebanon to know the truth about Hezbollah's involvement in the assassination of Rafiq Hariri. He lost his life, but his work will live on forever as it brings the truth of the evil nature of Hezbollah to the world.

Hezbollah Changes its Tactics

In the assassination of Wissam Eid, no cell phone use by Hezbollah was revealed by analysis of the cell phone towers. Hezbollah used radios in this attack. And this lack of communication with cell phones is just one more clue that Hezbollah killed Hariri, then learned that their cell phone calls had been tracked, and subsequently changed their method of operation by now using radios to communicate.

Is Wissam al Hassan Linked to Hariri's Assassination?

It is also noted that "UN commission insiders also suspected Hariri's chief of protocol, a man who now heads Lebanon's intelligence service, of colluding with Hezbollah." Wissam al Hassan, was the head of security for Rafiq Hariri at the time of his death.

Did Sissam al Hassan have Hezbollah connections? He was absent from work the day Hariri was assassinated due to the need to take an exam. Coincidence or a sign that he knew the assassination would occur ahead of time? CBC reports that Hassan claims he shut off his cell phone when he entered the campus for the exam, which occurred at about the same time during which Hariri was killed.

Phone Calls Raise Suspicion

However, while Hassan claims he spent the morning studying, his phone records show that he placed 24 calls in the hours leading up to Hariri's assassination, notes CBC. That's an awfully lot of conversations for someone who was supposedly preparing for an exam. The UN investigators have deemed Hassan a "possible suspect in the Hariri murder," notes CBC.

More Murders to Come?

And what of the UN investigators. Will they suffer unexpected deaths after they implicate Hezbollah in the assassination of Rafiq Hariri? Just how far will Hezbollah go to attack anyone who links them to the murder?

Will Hezbollah cause violence and unrest in Lebanon in the upcoming months? It is likely. This group will not take any announcement of guilt in the assassination of Prime Minister Harari lightly.
