HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Uses Fraudulent Uninsured Numbers to Exaggerate Urgency of Obamacare

Marc Schenker
Appearing on yesterday's edition of NBC's Meet the Press, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius used fraudulent uninsured numbers to exaggerate the urgency of Obamacare. Surely the utter confirmation of a both an administration on its last legs as well as a piece of legislation that is about as popular as a trip to the dentist for several root canals, Sebelius' numbers were misleadingly based on both old data (going back to more than a year!) and data that had been heavily influenced by two liberal think-tanks. Appearing on Meet the Press, Sebelius failed to have a shred of conscience about her as she, like a good Obamabot, rattled off the apparent mantra of exaggeratedly high numbers of people who lose their insurance each month. Without a doubt, Obama and his cabinet are so arrogant that they don't care that they're engaging in complete lies, which is just par for the course for them.

On her Meet the Press appearance, the focus was the adversity that Obama had been encountering all last year, courtesy of his headstrong push to impose Obamacare on a resistant public. The interview also naturally progressed to discussing Obama's final, last, desperate stand to basically throw a proverbial "Hail Mary" up in the air and see if he can unite Democrats into finally doing his bidding to pass Obamacare. And here's, repulsively, where the lying began at once! I swear, you can set your watch by the sheer frequency of Obama cabinet members who resort to the lowest form of persuasion-deception-when they know that telling the truth will just galvanize more Americans into opposing them. And, of course, you can't count on Meet the Press' disrespectable moderator-the white/gray-haired David Gregory, bastion of media "fairness" that he is!-to catch Sebelius on her lie...since he's a committed liberal and deep down is likely rooting for Obamacare to pass, too!

When asked by Gregory how the Obama Administration would get this excruciatingly unpopular debacle of a bill through, Sebelius seized on the opportunity served up to her in the easiest, underhand fashion...and started to fear monger the issue and the question. That's right: Instead of being straightforward and directly answering Gregory's question, Sebelius stooped to scaring viewers into thinking the health care situation in the US is really that dreadful that many Americans would in fact support the disaster known as Obamacare...even though, curiously, most polls say they don't.

Here's the lie: Sebelius alleged that 15000 Americans are losing their insurance each day! Really? Are you sure, Kathleen? Are you really, really...really sure there, Kathleen? Want to give that just one more shot, do you, girlfriend?! How about the fact that those numbers upon which you based that enormously dishonest allegation are...simply...outdated. Or how about that they're also taken out of thin air by an ideological, liberal think-tank that has a biased interest in getting Obamacare passed? With the benefit of knowing all of that, Kathleen, do you want to take another shot at that ridiculous number? Well...do ya?

According to a fact check by CNN-yes, CNN, that liberal cable network that's getting its keister kicked by Fox News like there's no tomorrow-the 15000 number is artificially high. First, those numbers are from more than a year ago when job losses still were in the several hundred thousands a month. Today, however, as Harry Reid loves to brag about, job losses are "just" around 36000, at least for last month. Clearly, with fewer job losses, fewer people are going to be losing their insurance, but that little-but-all-important-distinction by Sebelius is concealed as she redoubles her efforts to be a good, little propagandist for Obama and show her contempt for the intelligence of Americans. Furthermore, the Obama Administration's own efforts-alright, they haven't been very successful at all with unemployment still being near 10%-have put a dent in that exaggerated figure of 15000, an example being subsidies under the COBRA program.

Secondly, the 15000 number comes from a disreputable source called the Center for American Progress, which based its ideologically blinded "research" on-get this, haha-"research" from another liberal think-tank called the Urban Institute! So when the Obama Administration just lifts its exaggerated numbers from liberal groups who have an ideological interest in seeing Obamacare passed, you know you're being fed a crock of BS.

The moral of the story is the following, and smart and engaged readers certainly will already know this, but it bears repeating. Whenever you hear anyone from Obama's cabinet on TV talking up a bill, policy or issue of theirs-especially one that's just so very unpopular across the whole country-beware!!!! In all likelihood, they're playing fast and loose with the facts and insulting your intelligence all at the same time.

Your right, Kristin. Remember when Timothy Geithner got caught red-handed cheating on his tax returns? "Oh, it was just an honest mistake" they said. Now he's Secretary of the Treasury...

I love that you respond back to your critics--which reminds me I am waaay behind on my own comments sections

Ahhh, Joyce, we meet again. I have to incredulously ask, though: Do you even bother read my articles before commenting on them? I ask because you've charged me with not pointing out that COBRA factored in the disparity between the real number and Sebelius'. But...I did in fact mention COBRA; in my third-to-last paragraph, Joyce!! For the future, I will ever-so-politely ask that you read my whole article before wildly commenting, just so you don't make it too easy for me, you understand!

Interesting Mark, but you forgot to mention that one of the reasons that the number of uninsured was actually lower than the number Sebelius used was due to the cobra subsidy that was part of the Obama Administration's stimulus package. If the cobra subsidy was taken away the number of uninsured would have been much higher.

I agree that Sebelius should have checked her numbers first.
