Another point of interest is the Island's only natural pool at the Doña Juana Recreational Center. Also enjoy the crystalline water fall "Chorro the Doña Juana." Visit the Mirador Piedra Degetau observation tower for a breathtaking view Aibonito and even of San Juan Bay area in a clear day. Don't miss the gothic architecture of the town church, this is a National Historic Monument built in 1887. Visit "La Heladeria de Lares" where you can sample one of the unique local ice creams flavors such as rice, beans, and avocado.
Utuado:
The name Utuado is derived from the Taino Indian word "Otoao" which means "between the mountains." When visiting Utuado enjoy the view of the "Dos Bocas Lake" a beautiful, large reservoir. Also visit the Caguana Ceremonial Park and museum that features 10 bateyes (ball fields), petroglyphs surrounding a central sacrificial stone monument, and a small museum. This ceremonial park dates back to 1200 AD.
