Calling thou, "Come unto me, come away, take my hand."
Weary days of toil and trouble, nights of worry and of woe;
Hearken to the One who promised, "I will show thee the way to go!"
In the darkness thou doth stumble, fears and tears have been thy meal.
Let me tell thee of a hope, a peace, a joy, a love so real!
Thou hast not been here forsaken; thou art never left alone.
There is One who watches o'er thee; he has made thee for his own.
Restless hearts seeking pleasure, find no comfort in the night.
Thirsting souls longing, hunting, for a truth thou knowest is right.
Proud hearts will never find this treasure hidden 'neath a humble veil.
For the One who went before us, in lowliness didst he prevail.
Stubborn minds, which fail to open, block the greatest gift of all;
Lest thou art ready and be willing to be still and hear his call.
Consider this, my brother, sister all the grandeur before thine eyes;
Hast thou noticed there is no sound when the sun doth set and rise?
Doth the moving of the planets in their massive orbits spin
ever thunder with the power that they hold from 'ere within?
Doth the star in manifold brightness speak to thee in bountiful ways
as each one suspends in silence marking time and passing days?
Hast thou noticed the moon reflecting, though its light is not its own?
Yet it watches o'er the seas and its brightness is so clearly shown.
Yea, the grandest things in the heavens slip by unnoticed by our eyes.
Waken brother, sister waken! Could it be God's mind in disguise?
Let us look a little closer at the things we see all around:
Dost not the seed sprout again when it's laid 'neath the ground?
Canst the tree grow without water or without the sun to give it light?
How doth the sap return to the roots to hide its strength from winter's blight?
Dost thou know how the fruit ripens when its season doth arrive?
Canst thou understand what it is that causes a blade of grass to thrive?
Canst thou see the wind a'blowing? Yet, it moves things as it blows.
Doth the sea e'er fill to overflowing though the river constantly flows?
Look upon the beasts of the field, and the fishes in the sea.
Observe the fowls of the air speaking secrets of Life to thee.
Simple things all around us - why, O, why doth they exist?
Bid the One whom created it all to shine upon thee through the mist!
Hasten brother; hasten sister to the Voice
that is speaking in all the heavens, in all the earth:
See the awesome King of glory clothed in a lowly birth.
Riches he hath forsaken, in poverty to earth he came.
Glory and honor he denied coming here to bear our shame.
Walking in the midst of his power, knowing he was Lord of all,
Yet he let us bruise and beat him, for he came to receive our fall.
Hanging above the world he created, crucified for our mistakes,
Dying from a heart so broken, buried like a seed for our sakes.
O, brother, sister, look to Calvary; see his blood's atoning stream
like a river ever flowing washing all our sins forever clean!
Couldst he leave us here to die? Wouldst life be gone, forever lost . . .?
O, what joy! O, what love! Dost thou see he paid the cost?
God, our God, One eternal, in his plan and in his love
descended lower than the angels to lift us all to heaven above!
See the Resurrection of the Savior displayed everywhere in disguise.
Ask Him now, O brother, sister . . . for He alone wilst open thine eyes.
