High Fidelity and the Business Plan

Pro-active Smarts

Richard Beattie
Reading where we've been and where we are going there is a high liklihood that we may come under attack. In the hard and fast rules categories we need to deal with temptation issues and meet them head on! Our business plan must deal with what goes on in the cultural sandbox filled with obstacles and land mines- and that is where Solomon and his book on wisdom bring to the table.

Moving past the Obstacles
While many might not see it, there is more to obstacles than adultery. There are deeper and far reaching land mines that while serious and equally in our way must be addressed. Pastor Steve Holt of Mountain Springs Church in Colorado says "Pride and Power are tools of Satan and are the undoing of many a good man." When I interview people for a job I like to ask questions regarding power and pride and look for honest answers on how people have handled issues of flattery, flirting, money, business, time, talent and treasure. We all deal with these issues and if we have a plan for our business, our ministry, and our lives we can move past the obstacles proactivley.

A small course in obstacles
Proverbs is the guidebook and we need to be prepared to meet face to face with the evil one.

1. Distance yourself instead of being ushered in when something seems to be "compromising."

2. Know that it may seem innocent and somehow attractive- gift wrapped even, but the consequences might be deadly.

3. Apply only what is being presented onto your own commitments. proverbs 5:15 says, "Drink from your own cistern, the running water from your own well."

4. Rejoice in the wife of your youth! Imagine being "Captivated" by the love from and to your own wife.

5. Sin will ensnare you, the cords of sin will hold you, you will die for lack of discipline. Don't get led astray by your own folly.

This is exactly the high fidelity we must as trusted envoys hold ourselves up to-it is the higher standard, the better motive; the best approach and prayer for our constant impact to this present culture and world.
