High Five Pizza and Catering in San Jose

I have been going to High Five Pizza off and on for years. The restaurant is located on the Snell side of Branham and Snell, at the back of the shopping complex. Turn in the driveway where you see the giant oak tree, and you'll find it.

The parking lot is always crowded on the weekends and on Wednesday nights, when High Five has its Wednesday Night BBQ from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Plan to get there early or count on parking around the corner in front of the Safeway.

Walking into the restaurant is like walking into a sports haven. Plasma TVs hang over the bar area and from the ceiling, about four feet past the front door. I've seen everything from football to golf playing on those screens, but I don't go there to watch the games or to look at all the autographed jerseys that hang on the back wall over the booths. I go there to meet with my husband for lunch.

We used to order pizza there all the time, when we lived in the neighborhood. Our favorites were the All American (the traditional combination), the All Meat, and the Heater for my husband. The Heater is loaded with bell peppers, onions and sausage.

Since we moved to a new neighborhood, I've gone to High Five a few times to enjoy the mini pizza and salad bar. Their sandwiches are good, too. My favorites are the Classic and Jo's Favorite. Lunch will cost you between $7 and $10. Dinner is between $10 and $20, whether you order one of the entrees or a pizza for your family.
