I won a High Impact Mascara from Clinique, in there 'Let your lashes say more sweepstakes'. It is a 'mini' size one, but a win is a win to me. The color I have is 01 Black, and it doesn't give a net weight on it. It looks like a small tube, rather than a mascara.
Upon looking at the picture of the product on Clinique's website, this 'mini' has a full-size brush, measuring at least an inch. It is thick, with a rounded end to it. When I pulled it out of the wand, it looked full of black mascara.
I hadn't put any mascara on my eyelashes, and as I wasn't going out, decided only to do the right lashes. I applied the mascara to the top lashes first, and went over them several times. My lashes turned black, which I loved. Then I noticed slight clumping. I let the mascara dry.
I then applied it to the bottom lashes. I found this slightly difficult to do, because of the thickness of the brush. I managed to use the end, and got good results. I let these lashes dry.
I then put my glasses on, because I wanted to see the finished effect on my right lashes. They were much darker, longer, but the clumping looked worse through the magnifying of my glasses. When I looked straight ahead, into the mirror, it wasn't that noticeable. I have to say that my husband couldn't even tell that it had clumped. He thought my lashes looked great.
So I applied it to the left eyelashes. This is an okay product, but I wouldn't rave about it. Considering that the price for a full-size Clinique High Impact Mascara is $14.50, I personally would expect more from it.
When it came to night-time I used my Estee Lauder Soft Clean Tender Cleanser to remove it. It worked great.
From the Clinique website:
"Kicks up the volume and length of each and every lash for a look that's lusher, plusher, bolder. Pure, deep colour only adds to the impact. Wear it once and you'll feel naked without it. Ophthalmologist Tested."
It gives the benefits of using, the High Impact Mascara. as volumizing and thickening. I have to agree that my lashes looked longer, but the thickening aspect still could be improved. I love mascaras that thicken without joining lashes together.
I am delighted to have received this 'mini' Clinique High Impact Mascara, because I won't be wasting my money buying it from a departmental store.

I have come to the conclusion that there is NO mascara out there that doesn't clump or cause your lashes to stick together. I'm 59 years old, have tried everything out there since I was 15, and the closest I've every gotten to non-clump mascara was, get this, the ORIGINAL Maybeline, probably the cheapest stuff out there!
Thanks Rae Lynne. These are all the ones I had submitted before breaking my arm.
Hi, I wanted to comment on your health product reviews, but was not able to. Just wanted to let you know I viewed them and enjoyed them, and this one to of course.
I can't afford Clinque but that's okay because I love my Almay One Coat.
Free is always a bargain. Glad it is at least workable for you, even though you won't be buying it in the future. rcj
I'm still using the same mascara I've been using for years now - Maybelline. I won't switch, cheers ;)
