As a person that likes to watch movies at a theater or cinema, there is only one place in town I will go see them now -- Palladium Cinemas 14. For those who decide to ever come to High Point, North Carolina, here is the address info on where they are located:

Palladium Cinemas 14

Palladium Cinemas 14 has only been around a couple of years, but it has changed the city in terms of where people go to watch the newly released movies. This very new state-of-the-art facility is where residents go on Friday and Saturday nights as it provides 14 viewing theaters for those attending.

Before the Palladium Cinemas 14 came into existence, there were really only a couple of cinemas in town that people attended. Carmike and Regal Cinemas were the places that people would go here in town before the new age theater came out. Carmike Cinemas is located on Main Street just as you are coming in northward to High Point. It was a place people could go to watch movies without having to deal with much of traffic coming into the area. However, the cinemas have been around for a good while, and it was wearing thin with movie fans.

Regal Cinemas have been in High Point since 1995 when the local Oak Hollow Mall was built. At first, the mall had plenty of traffic to where many movie fans would stop in to catch the latest releases. However, many complained because of the location of the mall in accordance to where it was built at. Regal was built directly beside the Food Court in the mall. So being that the mall is very small and compact, it didn't take long for it fill up with people.

Both Carmike and Regal were traditional movie theaters that have many locations nationwide. So after a period of time, many wanted a change. Enter Palladium Cinemas 14. Carmike and Regal Cinemas are in the northern part of High Point.

So a couple of years ago, Palladium Cinemas were open to the public on the northeast side of town bordering Greensboro.

The Palladium Cinemas 14 have the best seating of any movie theater I have been in. Their low and high level seating makes for great viewing and experience. I have seen movies from both first and second row of seating, and I have no preference on either one. I will say that I do like the option of having a second level of seating because you can still get a very clear view of the screen while relaxing in the back. So getting an upper level seat at this place provides no disadvantage at all.

The concession stands within the theater provides a nice variety of food. There are many different kinds of popcorn you can get as I have tried most of them. Plus, for as busy as the place is, I have never had a problem with getting my order in a decent amount of time. There have been a few times where the concession line was full of customers, too.

The theater's ticket prices are higher than those at Carmike and Regal, but it is very much worth it. That was to be expected because of the newer and up-to-do-date theater. Tickets for movies were $8.75 for adults on Christmas night. They are normally $7.75 for adults, and $5.25 for seniors and children.

Parking at the theater is not much of a problem either. There is plenty of parking space, but I will say that it is a good walk if you get there late for a movie. But with as much traffic as that shopping center gets on a daily basis, they have adequately provided enough parking space for residents and customers.

I went to Palladium Cinemas on Christmas night this past year to see Rocky Balboa. Obviously, it wasn't nearly as crowded because of the holiday, but it still was packed inside for those watching that movie. I loved the movie, but I enjoyed it even more because of where I watched it at. I did sit on the first level with some friends that I work with in my business to watch that movie. It was a good Christmas gift to say the least.

The Palladium Cinemas have also changed the landscape of High Point in terms of where customer traffic and sales take place. There are clothing retailers, Office Depot, car care businesses, and more have helped build that area up for increasing residential traffic and sales volume in that area. As a result, this has really crippled Oak Hollow Mall in terms of traffic and sales. Since Palladium Cinemas 14 has opened up, Regal has seen a drastic drop in attendance as well as the closing of many stores within that mall. Two restaurants have closed down as well as a bookstore, two music stores, two clothing retailers, and others are out of the mall in that period of time. Palladium Cinemas 14 in my mind is a big reason why because you can now go to that shopping center where it is located to shop. Palladium Cinemas and Oak Hollow Mall are roughly five to ten minutes in driving time apart. I have seen the difference in traffic at the mall because that is where I have lunch alot of times as my job is located near them.

In general, it is well worth it to spend a couple of extra bucks to see a movie from this theater vs the traditional ones like Carmike and Regal here in town. There is nothing like it anywhere locally, so if you are in High Point to visit and you want something to do, then check out a movie at Palladium Cinemas 14. I highly recommend it to anyone who has never been there before.
