High Roller Keywords for Your Websites

Kerry Mulherin
Since Google makes money and shares it with you when an ad is clicked, they want to help you to attract people to your articles, blogs and websites who will click those ads. If you don't get paid, they don't either.

Using top phrases as well as single words, you will attract better quality ads to your site that have higher pricing. It is evident to you already that if you have a page with low returns, then you have written about the wrong topic and bought about your own poverty since your click through payments will not be as high. One way to go about reversing this trend is to find the top high paying phrases or keywords, research what they're all about and setup several blogs to write about the different topics. Another would be to write articles on luxury items, thus attracting ads or video images of luxury hotels, luxury car rentals, luxury vacations etc.

Pay per click is a huge industry these days, so you'll want to use words that the adwords buyers are having bid-wars over. They are worth lots of money to you since they cost the advertisers a small fortune. You can optimize your existing websites by altering the text or adding new pages and linking to your old ones. I would suggest some modification as well as linking, since the more pages you have monetized with high paying phrases , the more exposure you have via many more ads. It's a simple numbers game.

Let's look at an example of modifying a page without having to start from scratch:

If you have a page for diet and nutrition, expand on that topic rather than focusing too heavily one just dieting. By simply using Google's keyword tool, then researching the cost of the word "diet", you will find that the phrase "women's fitness" is worth around $4.00. Enough said.

There are two ways to make your money from here:

As an adwords advertiser you might consider checking on the bid prices for your favorite adwords. If you want to buy adwords you can try different variations by incorporating phrasing relative to that word which work out less expensive for you but still draws traffic and subsequent sales. You already know this will happen since the initial word you wanted is highly sought after through the major search engines. Alternatively, if you're an article or blog writer, use the most expensive keyword you could find, then write on that topic to attract the ads with the best paying click through rate.

Keyword pricing is not always true when you go out and spend good money to buy a list:

For example, if an adwords client bids $5 for a particular keyword, and the second bid is only .80c, then the first person is only required to pay 1c more = 81c. For this reason you should look at an average price of the first 3 bids if you want to know with any accuracy what that word is really worth.
