High School Musical Halloween Costumes

High School Musical has become a popular movie series over the last few years, so it's no wonder that people will once again be planning Halloween costumes to go with the movie again this year. Need a few ideas? Look no further. These few tips will get you headed in the right direction in no time.

Gabriella:

Gabriella is the sweet, shy girl, so if you are going for this look you are going to have to make sure it reflects that. When planning a costume, go for something pretty, and slightly conservative. A nice skirt, or a nice dress will certainly do the trick. If you have dark hair, all the better. If not, try and find a curly wig to make your costume complete.

Troy:

There are a couple of options here. You can go with a simple basketball uniform, but just make sure it's red. Otherwise, something you would wear to a golf course would work as well. If you have Italian loafers, definitely add those in!

Sharpay:

This is a character you can definitely dress up. Sharpay is all about the stage, giving you a wide range of things you can do for a costume. A crazy dress, something preferably glitzy. You can find these at any Halloween store, and if you start early, you can probably find something at Goodwill or Savers for pretty cheap. A blond wig will be a big bonus, and be sure to put some glitter in it as well. The bigger you can get your hair, the better.

Ryan:

Ryan's character is another one you can have a lot of fun with. One necessity however, is a fedora. You can't really be Ryan without one. Search stores like Goodwill or Savers to find a cheap one. Otherwise, a lot of clothing stores carry them. Once you have your fedora, dress it up with a bizarre shirt and some nice slacks, and you are ready to go!

Other cast members:

If you are looking for a less obvious costume, or are going as a huge group, there are a few things you can do to fit in with the High School Musical crowd. Basketball uniforms, cheer leading outfits or graduation robes will work for most things. Make sure though, that they are the proper school colors. If you have the time and skill, put the school's logo on whatever it is you are wearing, and that will help make your costume more fun and unique.
