High Time We Americans Stopped Isolating Our Own People and Dividing Our Own Great Nation on Religious Basis

No American, Irrespective of His Religion, is Responsible for Religious Hatred in the Rest of the World. Nor He Should Feel the Responsibility to Defend Something that Happened Outside This Country

Relentless religious hate-mongering will create more hate - that is not what this country was made for.

If you or your forefather had accepted this country as your homeland, you have already turned over a new leaf in life, free from bondage of history. So no need to feel pressured by history.

Religion has nothing to do with the problems in this world.

Those problems are created by people who are misusing religion and by extension, misusing God for their own selfish motives - throughout the history of the world, followers of every religion including those of mine have committed that mistake.

As a Christian I was surprised by the degree of hate and suspicion hiding in the workplaces I went - not only between colleagues of different religions but even among those Christian colleagues who belonged to the different denominations inside Christianity itself, my own religion.

Though I am neither a Catholic nor an Orthodox Christian, I felt humbled by the humility of Pope John Paul II when he returned with apology the relics of St. Gregory and St. John Chrysostom to Orthodox Christians of Istanbul. Those were illegally removed by Catholic crusaders many centuries before. He thus corrected the mistake of hate spread in that region centuries ago for which Christians paid a heavy price.

When Catholic Church weakened Orthodox Church in Constantinople, it became easy for Ottoman Turks to invade Constantinople. I am really surprised that at least one Pope in history had the guts to call a wrong a wrong and didn't consider it beneath his dignity to correct it.

So if I don't mind my own business, try to find fault with others and meddle in somebody else's home, others will become my masters.

On final analysis, foolish rivalry and hate are perpetrated by people who have not read even one page of their own religion's holy books. Even when read, they have manipulated the holy words to their own advantage.

Yes, hate was the accepted behavior when our ancestors were nomads, with no knowledge of science and technology. You knew some scripture, a bit of early astronomy or crude mathematics or did a piece of art, presto you were a genius.

But to revert to nomadic and tribal instincts in this modern era when humans are aiming to populate the Moon and the Mars, that is uncivilized.

-Any Christian who says he hates other religions has not read the Bible; even if he has, he hasn't understood it. Or, he is purposely manipulating it for attaining his selfish motives.

-Any Jew who says he hates other religions has not read the Torah; even if he has, he hasn't understood it. Or, he is purposely manipulating it for for attaining his selfish motives.

-Any Moslem who says he hates other religions has not read the Qoran; even if he has, he hasn't understood it. Or, he is purposely manipulating it for for attaining his selfish motives.

Yes, there are some "protect your religion by killing infidels" type of exhortations in all those holy books which were written with the human knowledge prevalent at the time of their writing. Remember, nobody even knew the earth was round at that time.

And it is highly shameful that most troubles in this world have the stamp of involvement or complicity by at least one of the three religions of Abrahamic descent.

Ancestor Abraham should be squirming in heaven seeing the murderous pursuits of his quarrelsome successors - Jews, Christians and Moslems.

I won't be surprised if Forefather Abraham disowns Jews, Christians and Moslems before God,saying, " Sorry God, I don't know them. These are not my sons or daughters."

When you vituperate and attack ,on global websites, people who have done you no personal bodily harm that means you are creating unknown enemies. If they are doing some mischief there, they have their own rulers in those lands to take adequate steps. No need for boiling and roiling over that here in USA.

You may think you have achieved greatness by doing that but actually you have delayed the progress of mankind by a few degrees.

And those enemies may not be taking revenge on you but on some other innocent American - verbally or physically.

If problems are happening in the homeland of your forefathers, you cannot import that problem into the United States of America.

If you feel the urge to fight your so-called enemies then you should go to the land of your forefather and join the fight there. That applies to all religions and all origins - without exception or exemption.

Relentless hate-mongering has made the younger generations either atheists or extremists.

And we all have become experts on other religions without even reading one page of our own holy books, whichever they are.

Ask anybody about anything on other religions other than his own - you can hear expert views, most of the time pure venom.

Ask him about his own religion - he knows nothing other than a self-righteous "my religion is the only religion and all others are fake and our enemies."

But if you ask him on which page of his religion's holy book it is written so, he doesn't have an answer for the simple reason that he hasn't read any!

REMEMBER, GOD DOESN'T NEED THE PROTECTION OF PUNY HUMAN BEINGS - be they Jews, Christians or Moslems.

The great nation of USA was not created to hate.

Remember Abraham Lincoln's great words,

"With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation's wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow and his orphan - to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace, among ourselves, and with all nations."

It was that eternal principle that allowed people of all religions to come and populate this great land. To live decently as normal human beings, not as scornful, fighting animals in the wild, where anything goes.

No, the axiom that nobody is perfect cannot be used as a facade to propagate hate here in USA.

So if you are propagating hate here - whether you be Christian, Jew or Moslem, or even of any other religion - the whole purpose of you or your forefather immigrating to this great land has been lost.

When you propagate hate in this country, you are assuming that the rest of the Americans have nothing inside their heads. That is pure deception.

I am sure the Good Lord was not so sleepy to have forgotten to install at least one neuron in each American's skull.

When God has endowed even lesser creatures with brains enough to detect deception, it is preposterous for anybody to think that hate-mongers can deceive the rest of the Americans who are human beings.

It is high time we Americans returned to the pre-World War status as the only country in this world without enemies. And it is high time we stopped importing hatred from abroad. Nor can USA be used as a launching pad for your hate. That was not the intention of the founding fathers of this great land.

I remember how proud I felt when a foreigner told me many years ago:

"For some strange reason, whenever I read the Bible verses with the words 'a new sky and a new firmament' I always remember those beautiful Christmas cards you sent me from USA."

Does she think the same about USA now?

No, I won't be asking her that question when I visit her the next time. Because, I don't have the heart to hear a "No" as her answer.
