High Yield Investment Programs: Players' First Challenges

HYIP - doing it for money or for the thrill of getting money? Maybe it is time for you to remember back why you wanted to invest in HYIP in the first place.

I believe that most of us started in HYIP simply because we want to get more money. More money - more than what we can get from mutual funds or fixed deposits or savings accounts. For a lot of reasons we do not know how to invest in stock option, currency or commodity trading and do not have the courage or ability to start-up our own business. Thus once we heard about HYIP, we believe that this is it - our gateway to wealth!

But for veteran HYIP 'players' like me, this game is no different from stock option, currency or commodity trading or managing our very own businesses. In HYIP we make money and also loose money. Any money making process have its own set of challenges, right?

So what are the challenges in HYIP? Be ready for it ...

First challenge is to find trustable and profitable HYIP.

It is like looking for a life partner or a business partner - very hard and very time consuming; and sometimes really frustrating. Now, first question, where to look for HYIPs? Normally I would go to monitor programs, discussion rooms and journal websites like ecommerce-journal. Sometimes I get to know about certain HYIPs from those who sent me (spam and friendly) emails promoting the investment programs that they join.

My first advice to you - when you look for a HYIP for investment, please do not jump into a fast conclusion to invest. You might be easily tricked by their great offers and their deceiving stories. Trust me, there is no difference between "1.8% for 100 days" and "180% after 1 day" offers. There is also no difference between "Manual Withdrawal", "Instant Withdrawal" and "Automatic Withdrawal". If it scams, it scams - and you get nothing!

Do your study thoroughly. The rule of the thumb is that the efforts needed to scout for HYIPs for bigger investments (say, USD10) should be greater than the efforts needed to look for HYIPs to invest smaller investment (say USD1). Good HYIP will always be there, so take your time to do your analysis.

When you do your analysis in HYIP monitoring programs, do not be deceived by fake votes and fake postings like "I get paid" or "I'm in" - because that person might be the HYIPs' owner themselves, baiting for preys. Be sensitive to any bad votes and bad postings. Easy - good HYIP should have no complaint at all.

You need to learn how to do WHOIS analysis. If you think that the owner of a particular HYIP could be the same people who own/owned the HYIPs that are already closed down and blacklisted, please avoid that HYIP. But most of the HYIP owners are clever enough to subscribe WHOIS privacy services. In this case you must use your instinct. Like me, I ban all HYIPs subscribe to a particular WHOIS privacy service provider in a town in New Zealand (sorry). I had been scammed twice by two HYIPs that are using the privacy service from this company. Thus I started to realize that they are many more blacklisted HYIPs using the same privacy service provider. My instinct tells me that all HYIPs that are subscribing privacy service from that company could be belonging to the same professional scammer. I prefer HYIPs that are registered using a person name or its own company name rather than those HYIPs that are subscribing privacy services. This way I can 'Google' that person/company to find any information about him/her/it.

Another good thing about doing WHOIS analysis is that we might be able to know when the subscription for HYIP's website and domain will expire. Does it sound logic to you if a HYIP offers 100 days investment plan (let's day 1.2% daily within 100 days) but will expire next month?

If you think you cannot do WHOIS analysis yourself, there are some good monitor programs that just do that for you. In monitor programs, if you interested in knowing further details of any HYIP, do not hesitate to click 'Details' (or alike) buttons/links. You can see their WHOIS analysis results, votes and comments. Sometimes they listed any confirmed closed and/or blacklisted HYIPs that are/were belonging to the same owners.

Always go for real person when doing any business. I prefer HYIPs that have many legitimate branches or at least representative especially in my own country. I would prefer HYIPs that have business registration number that we can check in company registrar departments. If they do provide contact number, please try to contact that number. If they do provide business address, try to 'Google' that address.

And also do try to contact the support or admin. See how fast they would response to you. If it takes forever for them to reply - yes, follow your instinct, do not to invest there. That HYIP could be either already closed down (but still online to bait for preys) or closing down (thus busy setting up or promoting another scamming HYIP) or that HYIP is a single-person business. In many things, I always prefer good service than the price tag.

If you are wise enough, you should never put all your eggs in one basket (one HYIP). Diversify your investments for better financial security. One profitable HYIP investment could cover one scam HYIP losses.

Some of the HYIPs do charge you withdrawal fee. Include this in your ROI calculation if that particular HYIP you are analyzing do charge withdrawal fee.

Lastly, like what I always said to my father (a great fan of 'Solitaire' for 13 years!), "Dad, HYIP is a game, but a better and more beneficial game than Solitaire". It is true!
