Higher educational institutions are refered to as 'Ivory towers', being the centres for the production of people of 'egg heads' including the Doctors, Engineers, architects, Lawyers, Pharmacists and others. People thus wish to go to the 'ivory towers' being special places for special people. Unfortunately, the 'ivory towers' in many African countries now serve as centres of wailing where innocent students are dying daily through the activities of cult groups. The so called 'ivory towers' also serve as the centres for the 'sugar daddies' in the society to recruit many female students to satisfy their sexual urge. Many of the students in the so called 'ivory towers' are now armed robbers, kidnappers, cyber fraudsters, examination mercenaries, political thugs and others. With these, there is no doubt that what we regard as 'ivory towers' in Africa are now ' crime towers'.
