The Action Adventure video game genre remains one of the most popular categories, and has a wide variety of highly anticipated titles scheduled to release in fall of 2010. With the upcoming season being one of the most prestigious and competitive release quarters of the year, it may be seem like a daunting task to weed-out the quality upcoming releases from the ones expected to fall flat. The hype around the following five video games is tremendous, and the teaser trailers and previews have the gaming industry whipped into frenzy in anticipation.

Hot Fall Video Game: Dead Rising 2 - Available on Xbox 360, PC and PS3, Dead Rising 2 promises to be one of the most popular video games for fall 2010. With a scheduled release date of September 28th, Dead Rising 2 is Capcom's latest answer to the zombie trend. Dead Rising 2 features a cooperative mode, a nice perk for gamers who want to team-up against the hordes of undead. Another highly anticipated feature is the combination of items to make a weapon with the resourceful application of duct tape. This video game is rated Mature by the ESRB.

Hot Fall Video Game: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - The latest chapter in the popular Castlevania franchise, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow promises new characters, more adventure and improved 3D action. The teaser trailers and screenshots depict a dark, medieval world once again, and a rugged hero battling formidable foes. With an ESRB rating of Mature, gamers can anticipate the bleak, deadly world typically associated with Castlevania sagas. This video game is scheduled to release October 5th, and will be available on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Hot Fall Video Game: Fallout: New Vegas - The latest chapter in the Fallout trilogy has received massive amounts of hype, not only in America but in Japan and the rest of the world. A combination of first-person view and the action and adventure demanded by the genre, Fallout: New Vegas is full of wicked weapons, senseless melee combat and the glimmering neon lights which draw gamers in. Yet another ESRB rating of Mature, Fallout: New Vegas is available on Xbox 360, PC and PS3 come October 19th, 2010.

Hot Fall Video Game: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II - With the phenomenal fan-base dedicated to anything brandishing the Star Wars logo, it's no wonder that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is both a highly anticipated sequel and a coveted new glimpse into George Lucas' Star Wars legacy. Once again players take the role of "Starkiller," only this time gamers will have a new force power: The Jedi mind trick. Explosions, battle droids, and lightsabers will fuel this latest Star Wars video game into many gamers' homes. Rated Teen by the ESRB, Star Wars: The Force Unleased II will be released for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC and DS on October 26th.

Hot Fall Video Game: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - The dark, medieval world of the Assassin's Creed saga is once again available to players in this third installment of the popular franchise. Being released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, as Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood follows in the wake of the tremendously popular original video game and sequel. The most important new feature is the implementation of multiplayer to the series, in addition to new weapons and locations. The multiplayer aspects of the video game are separate from the primary, one-player storyline; according to GameSpot's review on the GameFly website: "the multiplayer narrative in Brotherhood is described by (creative director) Desilets as a sort of "Meanwhile at Abstergo Industries" scenario." Rated Mature by the ESRB, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will deliver gamers back into the role of Enzio in the shadowy streets of Rome on November 16th.
