Hiking is a great way to spend any season, especially the fall when the weather is sunny, breezy and crisp. Below find some great hiking trails in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.

-Pemberton, NJ (1.5 mile hike)
Dot and Brooks Evert Memorial Nature Trail
This is a low elevation trail, that is a loop, and is considered and easy hike. It takes about an hour to walk. It is open year round but can get pretty wet starting in November since it is in a swamp forest and near water.

-Delran, NJ (Burlington County) (2 mile hike)
Amico Island
This area has hiking and biking trails, fishing, bathrooms, and picnic areas. Boats are no permitted on the pond, and fisherman must have up to date licenses. Low level of difficulty. Open 8 am to dusk.

-Wissahickon (Philadelphia, PA) (50 miles of park)
Wissahickon Valley Park
There are many trails here as well as hiking clubs the public can join. There are also guided tours, horseback riding, joggers, fishing, bird watching and so much more. There are all sorts of rocks, topography and geology in this park, so not all trails are steep, not all are flat.

-Philadelphia, PA (Hamburg) (8.7 miles)
Appalachian Trail: The Pinnacle
This loop, about 5 hours of trail, is open year round and is considered "moderate" in difficulty. It is not flat and has different elevations. This area is also used by bikers, hunters and owners with their dogs. Some pretty views from the top.

Sounds like a lot of fun places to hike. Have to watch out for poison ivy, though?
