Hilary, Obama, McClain: Who Really is the Best Choice?

I have a few concerns about the upcoming elections. I can't imagine that others aren't just as concerned as I am because I am not too much of a political intellectual and I have so many concerns. Before I get to my concerns I want to say that up to a couple of days ago I have been very impressed that the candidates have kept this clean. There has been stuff between Hilary and Obama but it was always face to face and not slanderous commercials and such. I say until a couple of days ago because of the news about McCain and another woman. Come on! Don't start this stuff again. I'm sure that everyone of us can go back to our pasts and remember things that we might not want advertised. These candidates are human beings first and politicians second, not the other way around. Should they be held to a higher standard as the leaders of our country, absolutely. But let's have some compassion when it comes to things that they have done in past years.

Okay, McCain, I like the fact that he has been in the military, since my son in active Army, and my older son is now inactive National Guard. My major concern with him is the fact that he is Republican. I am in the classification of lower class. Broke is a very simple way of describing my life, so I always heard that Republicans are for the rich, the big businesses. So that is my biggest concerns with McCain.

Hilary, had me from the beginning. Imagine, the first woman president. I would have never thought that I would be alive to see that. I was excited and so looking forward to seeing how a woman could change the world. Implement different aspects into politics that I feel have been missing. The womens view point for instance on health care, poverty, jobs. I really felt that she was the one. She lived in the White House, seen the trials and tribulations that Bill Clinton went through, so it is not like she would be blind sided with the lack of knowledge.

But, then Hilary was talking about the military. She stated that she wanted to cut the military BAH, which is the housing allowance which each person in the military receives if they are married. This money helps pay for there rent and utilities when they live off base and it also pays for their rent and utilities when they live on base. My son is married. He has two children between him and his wife and three more children of his wife's from a previous marriage. So, my son has five children and a wife. He goes to work everyday, working to provide his family, and your family with freedom. He has been to Iraq two times, each time was more than 12 months. He has missed the first year of his sons life, he made it home for the birth and had to go right back. He was home for the birth of his daughter and left her at the age of 5 months, to go to Iraq for his second tour. Does my son complain, no. I have not ever heard a word against the military. He signed up to do this job, to protect his country. How can we take money away from the men and women who have signed up to protect us. I know for a fact that my son's family qualifies for food stamps, but he refuses to take them. He does take the wick for the babies. How can we take monies from these people who are so proud to be Americans, proud to be fighting for our Freedom. This is why Hilary will probably not get my vote.

Now, for Obama, it has been said that he just may be the next JFK. Could be, he is young, he would have young ideas, young thoughts, which we might just need to change things in this world. We are very quickly going down hill fast. So, new, young blood might just be the answer. Then comes the fact that he would be the first black president. That would be even more awesome than a women president. This is a presidential vote that will long be remembered.

Now, I was of the belief that Obama had said that he would not use the Bible to be sworn in. I have since been informed that this is not a fact. I have found out that Obama is a Christian. He was sworn into the Illinois and U.S. Senate with the Bible. I therefore want to apologise for my misconception of this situation.

I was so concerned with my opinion that the Bible, God, was and is the very foundation of our country. The Declaration of Independence was based on God. Our monies, 'In God We Trust' written on each and every piece,(except the new nickle which I will refuse to use). I'm not one that knocks anyone's beliefs because I believe that you are entitled to believe what you want to believe but if you are going to work for the people, by the people, God is a part of that. I have sat back and watched the 'Pledge' taken out of schools because of the 'under God' part of it. I believe that this was the beginning of the fall of our society as we knew it. From there we are not even allowed to spank our kids. The bible says 'spare the rod spoil the child'.

With this new information I have received I believe that I am leaning towards Obama. How about you?

But now my biggest concern comes into play. Are we, the people, emotionally grown enough to accept a woman, or a black man as president of these United States of America. We still have active KKK members, the white supremacist is still active. Can you vote for someone knowing that the changes of an attempt on their life is probably going to happen. Can I? Knowing that some idiot out there will try and maybe succeed to kill our first woman president, or our first black president? What a dilemma.

Something that should concern voters about McCain, more than his party affiliation or his reoccurring history of infidelity, is his history of poor anger management and problems with authority figures (ok the authoritative issue go back quite some time, but the anger management problems are still surfacing). Do we really need a president who cannot control his temper, his speech, and other issues, when he is going to have nuclear war heads within easy reach as president?
