Hillary Clinton: The First Female President?

Does She Have a Shot?

The 2008 Election is right around the corner. Millions of dollars have been raised. Candidates are beginning to market themselves to the American public. The 2008 Election is shaping up to be different though. Hillary Clinton, the leading democrat as of now, could possibly be the first female president. Is America ready for this? Is the world ready? What change will come? These are all questions that we should be asking ourselves.

Before we ask ourselves these questions, We should evaluate Clinton's qualification. She was the first lady, but so what? What qualifies her to be president. Being married to the leader of the free world could have taught her a lot the. Seeing first hand how her husband lead the country probably sparked interest in her mind. Mrs. Clinton probably has an influence on her husbands political decisions as well. And she has been working with his campaigns since he begin his work in politics. Conservatives are quick to point out her lack of "experience" but fail to acknowledge her career as a lawyer prior to becoming first Lady. They also fail to acknowledge the success she ahs had as the senator of New York. She is not new to politics.

A female president would be refreshing. It would bring a different perspective to the politics spectrum. Hillary has always fought for the rights of children. She is a mother. Even though her health care plan in the 90s didn't pull through, She still hasn't given up on America's children. She also persevered through her husbands scandalous behavior, and she has been the victim of parody and critics for years. Her skin is as thick as any mans. During a recent debate, Her fellow democratic presidential candidates "ganged up on her" . But why? Because she is a threat. They may have had justifications for some of their tough questions, underneath that, they were scared. Scared that things were about to change. Scared that they were going to loose to a woman.

It is still uncertain whether or not she will be the Democratic presidential candidate for 2008. However, one things is for certain, America is ready for change. Some may be unsure about what changes need to occur, most people realize that things need to change. Baby boomers are aging, the war in Iraq is still going on, Iran may become a bigger threat, and the media has divided the American public.

I can't imagine Bill back in the white house, and I would certainly need to know a lot more about all the Whitewater scandals, which have never been cleared up to my satisfaction before I would vote for Hillary.

I hope Hilary becomes president, thigns need to change, the white house needs to change. I think foreign relations would improve greatly if she was in office. Bush is horrible with dealing with other foreign leaders. Hes very close minded and one dimensional.

This is one of the most important elections in history. Hillary Clinton is certainly one of the most qualified candidates.
