Hillary Clinton May Sue Her Way to the White House

Modern politicians have established a precedent. If they can't win at the polls, then they will take their case to the courts. Al Gore made this popular in the 2000 elections, when he contested several states in the general election, taking the results to the court system to have them overturned. Who can remember the video of poll workers looking for those "hanging chads."

The current batch of candidates is apparently not going to be any different this time around. In fact, the threats of law suits are already started in the Democratic Party. Evidently, both the Clinton Campaign, and the Obama Campaign have threatened to challenge the results of the March 4 Texas primary and the evening Caucus that is to follow. The Texas delegates are handed out through a very difficult process. Since the race for these Democrat candidates is so close, they are ready to do whatever is necessary to win. One of the tools available is the court system. If they can win there, they can win anywhere!

Hillary Clinton, in particular, has shown the characteristic of doing anything within her power to win. Currently, she is losing ground in the primaries, which has backed her into a corner. She has to win in Texas to have a chance of overcoming Barak Obama. This is why she is already threatening to sue to win the race in Texas. The Houston Chronicle has reported that a Democratic Party Official has confirmed that both campaigns have suggested the possibility of legal action, but that the Clinton Campaign is the one that comprises the most immanent threat of action. Their intention is to challenge the very process that is now used in Texas to distribute the delegates to the candidates.

This action, by Clinton and her campaign, is really not surprising. She has already shown that she will not abide by the will of the people when it comes to the primary campaign. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) does not require that delegates actually vote for the candidate that wins in the primary elections. So, even though Barak Obama could win a certain amount of delegates, even enough to win the nomination, it is possible for Hillary to steal it away by convincing the delegates to vote for her. The delegates are just as much "in play" after the primary as they were before, if the candidate can convince them to change their votes. Hillary Clinton has been actively pursuing this avenue of gaining more delegates for her own campaign. She has also been working diligently to sway the "super delegates" in her favor. These delegates reserve their votes for a candidate and are completely independent of the votes tallied from each state. It has also been rumored that Hillary will now strive to get the delegates of Michigan and Florida counted, even though she agreed to exclude them as punishment for moving their primaries too early. But, since she did well in those states, she wants to count the delegates.

How can this backhanded campaigning be acceptable to the Democratic Party? Evidently, they are satisfied with the way things are, as they are not changing the rules. This opens the door for Hillary Clinton to beg, buy, borrow and steal all the delegates that she may need to make it to the White House. Do not put it past her to use the court system to sue her way into the White House if she cannot win the delegates she needs at the polls! We have seen the way the Clintons operate, so we should not be surprised to see her use these tactics to cheat her way into the presidency.
