Hillary Clinton for President

Dexter1
Hillary Clinton has been a driving force in politics for over thirty-five years. She has much experience in working with people from all different backgrounds and has considered many issues we face in America and the world. She has also been in many different political positions such as first lady of Arkansas and the United States, New York Senator and campaigner for important issues we face. She has traveled the world speaking out about women's rights, which she considers to be human rights as well. Her work in supporting women has been recognized around the world. Hillary has created and supported numerous organizations to help the citizens of the US. In 1992, she became first Lady of Arkansas when her husband Bill Clinton was governor. She served as Arkansas first lady for twelve years. In that time she was chair of Arkansas Educational Standards Committee; she was a co-founder of the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, she served on the boards of the Arkansas Children's Hospital and the Children's Defense Fund. In 1997, she campaigned to help prevent teen pregnancy as well as create the Adoption and Safe Families Act. She also worked on issues in the White House such as making adoption easier. She created programs to expand early learning and childcare. She has also increased funding for breast cancer research. One of her biggest fights in society has been for a better universal health care coverage plan which she had, but it failed. However, Hillary has never given up on the issue. She has battled with drug companies to test their drugs for children and to make sure all children in America get the immunizations they need. She created the Vaccines for Children Program and, since it's beginning, the number of children who get vaccines has increased dramatically. In 2000, Hillary was elected to the United States Senate representing New York. She was also elected a second time in 2006 by 62 percent of voters in New York. If Hillary is elected president, she will fight for every issue that America has. Hillary wants the best for every American from child to adult. Three of her biggest concerns for America are education, healthcare and the economy. In Hillary's concern for education, she wants to not only help families with children to get a better education but she also supports helping the teachers in the classroom. The issue of healthcare, Hillary wants to make healthcare affordable to all no matter how much Americans make a year. Hillary is also willing to make changes in the economy to make it better and less stressful for Americans as they face everyday living expenses.

Having a child of her own who went through the public school system, Hillary is a big supporter for public school choice. She wants schools to be equal for every child. One of the biggest issues that the public schools face today is the student to teacher ratio. There are many kids in the public school system and not enough teachers. When asked about the issue Hillary said, "We know that getting classroom size down works. That's why I'm for adding 100,000 teachers to the classroom." With more teachers added to the public school system, the number of students per class could be much smaller. Today, in the United States, the average English class size of twenty-three to twenty-seven students per class in grades seven through twelve. Although Hillary is not completely against the private school system, she does support the public schools more. While speaking on the educational issue about public and private schools Hillary quoted, " We also know that the majority of children are educated in the public education system. So we have to support the public education system whether or not our children are in it or whether or not we have children." Hilary mentions that parents do have a right to choose where their children go to school but people should support the public school system for children who don't have a choice of where they would like to go. She is well aware of how important it is in our time for all children to be educated. For many, that means going through the public school. If we do not support our public schools, the children won't have a fair opportunity in college or in careers. Hillary is against the use of vouchers. She believes that vouchers will only take away money from the public school systems. People get the money for vouchers through taxes. Many private schools make enough money through donations that they can provide scholarships for students to attend without the use of public taxes for the private schools. If we use that money for supporting kids to attend private schools instead of for their use in the public schools, the schools won't be able to afford more teachers and smaller class sizes.

Making healthcare affordable to all is another major goal Hillary has for the American people. She wants to create a health care tax credit plan that would ensure affordability to all Americans. Her plan which is called Hillary's American Health Choices Plan does just that. It is like the current health care system where it is very expensive to get covered and most are unable to afford it. Hillary has proposed: "Under my plan, working families will get a tax credit to help pay for their premiums, insurance companies won't be able to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions, and people won't lose coverage if they switch or lose their jobs." The current heath care plan today does deny some people who have any pre existing conditions. It is very expensive and many people are unable to afford it and as she says: "There are 47 million Americans without health insurance and many more just a pink slip away from losing the coverage they have." If Hillary is elected to be President she will immediately put her health plan into action which covers all Americans, has lower costs and improves its quality. The plan would provide tax credits for working families and help cover their costs. It also can't deny coverage to people even if they have a pre-existing condition.

Regarding the issues of the economy, Hillary knows that the last six years were challenging for Americans between 9/11 and the current war in Iraq. Hillary wants to try a new way to make the economy better for all classes. She believes: "We need a new vision of economic fairness and shared prosperity." One of her plans in changing the economy for the better is to start with the middle class; she wants to improve the economic standards of the middle class. Because of income inequality, many middle class families are being squeezed out of college opportunities because of tuition costs. She plans to lower taxes for middle class families and will give child tax credit and marriage penalty relief. Hillary will also offer new tax cuts which will benefit healthcare, college and retirement. She also has a plan that if Congress votes to give itself an increased pay, the pay of minimum wage will go up, too.

If Hillary Clinton is elected President she will address the needs of the US citizens and work hard to fix the issues. She has many plans in improving the US economy which would make a major difference in helping the middle class. Her top priorities for America are making heath care affordable to all, creating better education in the public school system and paying more attention to the middle class economy. These are all issues which Hillary will address promptly if she is elected President.

I like this article, lots of good info. It would be easier to read if you split it up into multiple paragraphs though.

Hillary's got tried and true leadership skills and she's tough enough. I'm voting for McCain ,but should the Democrats win, I'd like someone more than an erudite salesman-orator in the presidency. I've developed a great deal of respect for Hillary Clinton-- Hillary irritates me sometimes but at least she walks the walk while Obama talks the talk. Where the hell was Obama as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee Europe? He could have banged some NATO heads together to get support for the hard-pressed soldiers in Afghanistan. And why was it that the press had never pointed out Obama's AWOL in that capacity? And then there's the unseemly misogyny of certain media dweebs like Chris Matthew and Keith Olbermann (and others).

I'm a conservative, but of the two Democrats I prefer her to Obama. I hope she can come back and win this nomination.

She is well aware that the majority of people~except Republicans want out of Iraq and we are in debt to China to pay for it, so what sense is it to start yet another war in Iran? She wants to garnish people's wages who can not afford Health Insurance; people who already work one day to support a corrupt government. She and Bill have been involved in many scandals and in trouble with the law for non-disclosure~fudging on their income taxes. Bill lied under oath to the Supreme Court, showing little respect for his position as president and continued lack of integrity. People are voting for her because, they say, she is a woman. Sad day for the USA if she is elected, by people that do not demand integrity from our government.

I am not sure I agree she has been a driving force in politics for 35 years, even though she was a "Goldwater girl" where she entered the world of politics. Her early work was in corporate law; she has exaggerated her relationship with a Children's organization that she has listed on her campaign site; she voted to kill children in Iraq, not shedding a tear when Iraqi women joined wives, mothers, sisters, daughters and friends of our troops begging her to use her power to end it. Without Iraq, Bill not have been making those millions in Dubai. That Dubai lobbyist are among those foreign countries that fun her campaign makes her suspect of the same "conflict of interest" she accused Bush of in regards to giving control of our east coast seaports to Dubai. She has already voted yes to the Iran Resolution that passed in the Senate, despite cautions from Russia and China not to invade the country.
