Indian Welcome the Proposal for Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State

The latest speculation in Washington Post is that President elected Barack Obama is mulling the possibility of naming former rival Hillary Clinton as his Secretary of State. Citing two unnamed Obama advisers, NBC News and the Associated press reported that Hillary Clinton name is under active consideration.

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton was born in October 26, 1947. A native of Illinois, Hillary Rodham first attracted national attention in 1969 for her remarks as the first student to deliver the commencement address at Wellesley College. She embarked on a career in law after graduating from Yale Law School in 1973. She moved to Arkansas in 1974, and married Bill Clinton in 1975.

Rose Law Firm named their first Lady partner in 1979 as Hillary Clinton. She was twice listed as most influential Lawyer in America. She was the First Lady of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981 and 1983 to 1992 and was active in a number of organizations concerned with child welfare.

She played a crucial role in advocating for the establishment of the State Children's Health Insurance Program, the Adoption and Safe Families Act, and the Foster Care Independence Act. She is the only First Lady to be subpoenaed, testifying before a federal grand jury as a consequence of the Whitewater controversy in 1996. Hillary Clinton was elected as senator for New York State in 2000. That election marked the first time an American First Lady had run for public office.

She has under gone long way from 2000 to 2008 from First Lady to Senator Clinton.

Indian Welcome her to be Secretary of State

The possibility of naming senator Clinton for the post Secretary of State has been a welcome note to most of the Indians. Primarily this is because as a First Lady in the tenure of her husband the Indo - American relationship improved and paved the way for further course of action in the development between both the countries. In popularity in India one of the two first lady Hillary and next is Mrs. Kennedy. So a happy note has been struck in the Indian common men mind that like in her husband period , she too can be a binding force in the future relationship between the countries.

Apart as published in "Washington Post" columnist Al Kamen wrote on 16/11/08 ---" Clinton has long been known for her work on International Women's issues and human rights. The former first lady could also enhance Obama's efforts to restore US standing amongst allies Worldwide. "

Hence if Hillary Clinton becomes Secretary of State world biggest economic country and world biggest Democratic country can come more closer for better relationship.
