The sky is lighting up each Tuesday before dusk from June 2nd to August 18 at Shelter Cover Harbour. The fireworks display is part of HarbourFest on Hilton Head Island.

Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort sponsors HarbourFest a summertime tradition and long time event on Hilton Head Island. Bret Martin, vice president of operations at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort says "HarbourFest serves as a signature summer event on Hilton Head Island, We're excited to once again welcome generations of visitors to Shelter Cove Harbour for shopping, dining and fun summertime entertainment". HarbourFest begins at 6p.m. and ends at 9:45p.m. nightly. All events are free and open to the public. You'll find food, arts and crafts, nightly live entertainment and the spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

The fireworks flashing above in the sky and their reflection in the water is a unique and memorable experience. If having fireworks weekly during the summer is not enough fun you can make the experience even more unique. Several companies offer fireworks tours so you see the fireworks from the water.

Outside Hilton Head, offers a special 2 hour Fireworks Dolphin boat cruise that departs early evening from Shelter Cove Marina on Tuesdays. The first part of the cruise is a fun and informative Dolphin Eco cruise with the additional half hour to enjoy the HarbourFest fireworks display. They also have a kayaking fireworks paddle tour.

Live Oak "The Island's Outdoor Adventure Company" offers private custom tours on their Hurricane Sun Deck cruising boat. If you prefer a sailing vessel to see the fireworks from, Advanced Sail Inc. can accommodate large or small groups for a fireworks sailing tour.

So when there are fireworks every week on Hilton Head Island what happens on the Fourth of July?

There are more fireworks, bigger fireworks and more places to see them.

Harbour Town home of the Harbour Town Lighthouse has fireworks on the 4th of July. This is yet another unique perspective of fireworks with the lighthouse in the background.

The Skull Creek July 4th free Community Fireworks display shoots off from a barge in the Intracoastal Waterway/Skull Creek at 9:30PM. Live outside entertainment begins at 6PM at Hudson's, Boathouse II, and Charley's Crab. The 4th of July Shelter Cove fireworks are even bigger.

River Street River Boat Company has a July 4th fireworks cruise. During this 1 1/2 hour cruise - dance to the music of a riverboat DJ who will be spinning all your favorite tunes. The highlight of the evening will be the front row view of the spectacular waterfront fireworks display from Shelter Cover.

The Spirit of Harbour Town is a luxury, air conditioned passenger yacht that departs from the Harbour Town Marina for a Fireworks Dinner Cruise.

This summer it's fireworks and fun on Hilton Head Island even if it's not the 4th of July..
