I decorate my tables according to the holidays. Example, maybe on Valentines Day I might place pink and red hearts (made from construction paper) all over the tops of the tables, after I have placed my jewelry where I want it. For Mothers Day I place pink and blue "I love you MOM" little signs here and there all over. 4th of July It would be something like flags in red, white and blue, but you get the picture. This draws peoples eyes to your tables and is certainly better than the plain old boring tables I have seen at flea markets. I also try to have some kind of flashing light to draw attention to my tables. I have a red fiber optic tree that constantly changes colors that is nice to use. It draws people from a distance and they wonder what it is that is changing colors. They will come over to see it.
Another good thing to do is cover the front and sides of your tables to hide all the empty boxes and stuff you have unpacked. At a lot of flea markets this is the rule. I came up with the idea of buying and using white table skirting (plastic) that already has adhesive on it. Place this all around the outside of your tables. Mine has ruffles on it, very cute. You can get this in colors too. This plastic can be used over and over at least 4-5 times but then you need to replace it. I just recently bought some over sized 60x72 light blue table cloths that were only 4 dollars a piece . I bought 4 of them and they cover my tables completely ,tops and down the front . A fantastic bargain considering the price of cloth these days. Didn't have to do anything to them just spread them over the tables and let hang down in front. Before ordering your material / table cloths be sure to measure across the top and all the way down to the floor.
When pricing my items, I take into consideration what I paid for the item. I add a few bucks. For example, I bought a ring for 4 dollars and I mark it up to 12 dollars. If it doesn't sell, on the last day I mark it down to 1/2 off making it now 6 dollars. I am getting my 4 dollars (cost) back plus still making a 2 dollar profit. and they are getting it at 1/2 price.
Along with jewelry (or what ever you are selling) you may want to sell other items at the Flea market. I take things from home I want to get rid of and sell them there also. I sometimes will go to used furniture places as well as lots of yard sales in the summer and pick stuff up cheap to resale. This past Christmas I went into a local drug store and they had Santa and Snowman salt and pepper shakers for 39 cents a piece. I bought a bunch of them for my Flea market and sold them for 1 dollar a piece. People bought them for Christmas gifts. I Also bought pot holders at 39 cents and Christmas candles at 39 cents and sold for 1.50. There are lots of things to buy real cheap and make a profit on if you just look around. After Christmas is a good time to buy stuff for next year for your Flea market too.
