For those that don't know, recently Ice T and Soulja Boy have been having a video war via YouTube. The West Coast veteran and legend, Ice T threw the first shot that started this war of words.
Ice T Fires Off
Word is that Ice T was working on a mixtape and he was asked how he feels about Hip Hop and why its the way it is right now. In his response, he throws a shot at Hurrican Chris and Soulja Boy. Although both names were mentioned, it was Soulja Boy that became the target of his rant. During the his rant, Ice T tells Soulja Boy to "eat a dick" and as you can imagine, YouTubers went crazy and the video was all over the net in a matter of days. Ice T also accuses Soulja Boy of "single handedly destroying Hip Hop."
Soulja Boy Responds
Soulja Boy did just what a man is expected to do when he is told to "eat a dick." He responded with a few words of his own. Soulja Boy made a lot of good points in his reply, such as "you should be helpin me instead of tellin me to eat a dick" and "I was just doin what I needed to do to take care of my family." Don't think Soulja Boy tucked his tail because he also fired off a few memorable lines such as, "the Internet wasn't even invented when you were born."
The funniest part of Soulja Boy's reply are that his two cheerleaders are in the video with him and the one on the left keeps adjusting his chain so the camera can see it. The two side kicks come off as groupies more than anything else. They laugh even when the jokes aren't funny. Hopefully next time, he'll respond without an audience in the background.
Ice T Responds To Soulja Boy
The latest video has Ice T and his son responding to Soulja Boy, but he should have known better than to wear an old, too tight, Iverson Starter Jersey. Soulja Boy is probably going to have a field day with that one. Ice T does appologize to Hurricane Chris for making the comments about the beads in his hair. What I can't understand is why Ice T makes the statement that Soulja Boy should have just been quiet on the issue.
I'm a grown man and if you tell me to "eat a dick" then we are going to have words at minimum. Regardless of who you are, you shouldn't expect another man to let you disrespect him. Ice T definitely got the WTF face on that one.
To top things off, Ice T's son comes in at the end and also tells Soulja Boy to "eat a dick."
My Opinion
Personally, I love Ice T's music and I've been a fan for a very long time. I'm definitely not a fan of Soulja Boy, in fact, I hate his music and that damn dance too. I have to call it like I see it, and Ice T was dead wrong for going in on the youngster like he did. Its one thing to say you don't like someones music, which is an opinion he is entitled to, but don't make it personal by saying "eat a dick." That takes things to a whole different level.
I think both of these guys should hit the studio and put out the diss tracks. I think this might be good for Hip Hop. This definitely won't turn into any real beef. Ice T is grown and past trying to fight, and Soulja Boy is just trying to enjoy his life. Musical beef is alway interesting and stimulates an interest in Hip Hop, so I say, stop sending YouTube videos and somebody put out a song already.

Post a CommentInteresting article. I do like Soulja Boy, I think that hip hop is going through transition. Music will never stay the same no matter what we try to do. The past artists that created it have done their part, now these young jocks are bringing a new theme. We still have to give them respect, it's just a new art.
