Hip Hop Vs. America II: Where Did the Love Go?

My Response

First of all, Hip Hop vs. America 2 is a big joke. There was nothing new placed on the table to help us ALL, at all. I am so tired of adults talking about how troubled their kids are. The generations before us are fighters so if there is any threat or potential threat, best believe some parent is going to confront it. That is not a bad thing. But like I tell my parents stop fighting and take five. I am approaching adulthood and confronting some of these problems myself, (keyword: myself). Hip Hop is not hurting me, my friends, or my relationships. But I and most of the people I associate with are strong minded. The weak minded are the ones that are in trouble. I can listen to hip hop without it affecting me negatively. Those who are weak minded lack that ability. That is unfortunate and if we want to fix that it will take a lot of work, time, and effort. This is just a side note.

What these segments are missing is the more important issue: the future. The panelists were talking about the past and how it affects the now and all the issues it carries. What about the future? Yes, today we have problems with hip hop affecting our black communities and the negative images it reflects on America. But in the future it won't be like that. We have all these older people talking about black man this and African women that, but what they fail to realize that young people have an entirely different spectrum on theses topics. We, the next generation, are NOT going to deal with this. Future women are going to play a bigger role because future men will be willing to give them a chance. Future black people will be smarter, wiser, and numerous in professional fields African American workers are lacking in numbers today. The entire world will be more universal. We won't have time to fight and squabble about issues such as those addressed in these segments (Negative Media, Misogyny, Ecclesiastical Apartheid, or issues with Patriarchy). We have bigger things on our plates (Space and Universal Well Being). Even in the Black Church things are changing. "...a child shall lead..." Today's youth are beginning their own ministries and carrying duties out is a way the traditional Black (and this even goes for any other religion, faction, cult or group). And As far as hip hop goes it is just music and entertainment. The younger rappers and hip hop artists seem to be merging with other genres of music (rock, techno, etc.) and vise versa.

The thing with women is hard for me to talk about or fix for that matter. I think any form of feminism is a plea for attention. I can't totally get behind it because it looks like something totally driven by emotion, only. If there is no or even very little logic behind an issue I can't fully support or condone of it. Women need men to lead them until they are ready to lead themselves. That time is not now but is fast approaching us. Men need women to support the men. Men are unbalance human beings. Men need that womanly touch every now and then. Men can not conjure up emotions like women can. They lack compassion, passion, and love. That is where women come in. Men can feed off of that energy and return it to women, children, or what have you. It takes two to run anything. Now the thing with the sexiness... I honestly can't say! I like a sexy woman. Voluptuous women are attractive to me. But I love brains. We can't stop beauty. If it's hot, it's hot. No ifs, ands, or but(t)s about it. Money is money. Rappers say these derogatory and controversial things and make these women-degrading videos and get paid for it. Last time I checked if you get paid for something you do on a constant basis of some sort, you got a job. Rappers rap for money, because it is their job. Those women who dance in those videos dance for money because it is their job. It is normal for people to not like what some people do for a living. People don't like bill collectors or repo-men. Some people don't like customer reps or police officers even though their job is to help and serve them. It is normal. Men like sexy women and so do some women (because it looks attractive). Many people like hip hop and the nasty things said in it (and it is the same with hip hop music video with the sexy women being super sexy). You can't fight what you really like. You can stop liking it but that won't make it go away, because you might not be the only one who likes it. Hip hop, moral or immoral, makes money. America really needs that money, right now.

The future is color blind and the generation before us has nothing to worry about besides how they are going to spend the rest of their lives. Parents have to learn to give up and sit down. The young have it under control. Hip Hop is going to be fine; Black people are going to be fine; Young people are going to be fine; the WHOLE WORLD is going to be fine.
