Tie-Dye Eggs
For this craft, you'll need an old T-shirt or sheet, hard-boiled eggs, egg dyeing mixture (Paas), egg carton, shortening, and some paper towels.
First, tear some narrow strips from an old clean T-shirt or sheet. Cover your work area with a thick layer of newspaper. Twist and wrap the strips of cloth around a hard-boiled egg several times, and knot them in place. Repeat this procedure until the egg is completely covered. Place each wrapped egg into an egg-dyeing mixture (such as Paas). Let each egg sit in the dye for about 20 minutes.
Use a spoon to remove the eggs. Take off the cloth strips and set the egg in an egg carton until dry. Polish the egg with a bit of shortening on a paper towel. For added bling, add some Easter stickers to the egg before wrapping it. After taking off the cloth strips, remove the stickers. This will leave white space wherever the stickers were placed.
Flower Power Eggs
Gather up some colorful napkins, blown eggs, glue and water, and you're ready to make some flower power eggs.
Cut or tear a pretty napkin into small pieces. Hold a piece of napkin on the shell of a blown-out egg. Dip a finger into some watered-down glue and "paint" over the napkin piece with it. The glue will soak through and the napkin will stick to the egg. Cover half of the egg and allow it to dry and then cover the other half and let dry.
Felt and Lace Easter Eggs
These are cute and easy to make. All you need is felt, lace or ribbon, glue and cotton balls. For each egg, cut two ovals from pastel colored felt (pink, purple, yellow). Glue some pretty lace or ribbon on the ovals for decoration.
Turn the ovals to the opposite side. Place glue on the edges of the ovals and put a few cotton balls in the center of one oval. Put the second oval on top of the first, pressing the edges of the ovals together. Voila! You now have some cute felt and lace Easter eggs.
Yarn-art Planter
Get back to nature and get a plastic food container and yarn to make this cute planter. Use about an inch of glue around the bottom of a plastic food container. Start from the bottom with the end of a piece of yarn and glue it around the container. Alternate colors of yarn. You can add a decoration with yarn on the front also. Put some pebbles in the bottom of the planter for drainage. You can add some dirt and beginnings of a growing plant to your container, or put in a potted plant. This planter is sure to brighten up any room!
