Hippies

Real Poem

Kady Birdwhistle
Hippies, I would know, I am one
Take a Parisian toe out of the bathtub
Sheltered with Shinto incense

Speaking little languages at times
Only you and I can understand
The little guitar sits in the corner

Begging to be played

Hippies, I would know, I am one
Laugh at the littles of things
A spilled ashcan sounds fun

Howling at the moon at times
The new moon seems full
When hippies dance around

Begging to be seen

Hippies, I would know, I am one
Love the Marx brothers' antics
Harpo honking on his horn

Pointing to places on the map
They been and want to see again
Okinawa is a definite possibility

Begging to be seen

Hippies, yes, we're good peoples
