Carrots and Eggs, that's what the Easter Bunny would like for a snack right? I hope so because that is what I would leave out for him (or her?) to eat before I went to sleep for the night. I still remember the thrill of waking up in the morning to find the bits of eggshell left on the plate, and the carrot nowhere to be found. Surely, the Easter Bunny had been to my house, and it was now time to wake up the rest of my family and let the Easter Egg Hunt begin.
My brother and I would happily run around our house, collecting all the eggs we could find; an amusing sight for my parents I'm sure. Every egg contained a piece of delicious chocolate, with tons of variety between them all. I still remember the taste of the chocolate, the thrill of the search, and the knowledge that the Easter Bunny had come.
Of course, eventually the hunt would end. We would change into our Sunday's best, head off to church and spend the rest of the day over a relatives house; sitting together and eating a meal that everybody would participate in the making of. Easter may be different now that I am older, but I will always have my memories (assuming no head traumas in my future), and I will always think back on my childhood Easters with fond memories and warm feelings.
