Hiroki Kuroda Trade Rumors-Is Boston Winning?

Chris Houston

Hiroki Kuroda trade rumors could be the talk of the weekend if Ubaldo Jimenez isn't moved. It seems evident that Heath Bell will land with Texas if things continue to progress. Other trade rumors have the St. Louis Cardinals still involved with talks to acquire Bell. But what about Kuroda to the Boston Red Sox?

The Red Sox are one of a handful of teams that covet the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher. According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, the Dodgers are completely "prepared" to move Kuroda this weekend before the trade deadline on Sunday.

Does that mean the Red Sox will be the winning party? The Yankees, Indians, Tigers and Rangers were all mentioned as possible interested parties-but Gurnick says those parties have been limited to two or three now.

Does that mean the Yankees and Red Sox are locked in a bidding war to trade for Kuroda? Since the asking price for Jimenez might include way too much, perhaps the weekend battle will come down to Hiroki Kuroda.

FOX reporter Ken Rosenthal tweets that the Red Sox interest in Kuroda might have increased with a bad outing by Erik Bedard in Seattle. Did that outing ruin his potential trade to the Red Sox? Does that open the door for Boston to now acquire Kuroda instead just minutes before the Sunday trade deadline?

The trade rumors will inevitably swirl and become fast and furious on the Saturday before the deadline.
Kuroda seems inevitably on his way out of the Dodgers-which team lands the veteran pitcher is still in question but it seems as if Boston is working hard and quickly to land Kuroda.
