Notes:
-Great parking!
-Sake, and American/Japanese beers served.
-Sushi is served, as well as traditional Japanese dishes.
-Moderately priced for an authentic Japanese restaurant.
-The winner of the 2007 Best of Family Dining and Best Sushi in the Arizona Daily Sun's Best of Flagstaff Awards.
-Seats 150 people comfortably.
-Newly remodeled dining room.
-Gift shop inside, where you can buy everything from Japanese clothing to spices.
-Nice, traditional Japanese family-themed atmosphere. Nothing crazy or hectic!

Prices:

Hiro's appetizers run from $2 to $8.50. The more expensive appetizers include sea food, and this is understandable.

Their Lunch Specials (from entrees to noodle bowls) run from $5.95 to $9.50, and are served with Miso Soup and rice. Their Lunch Special is served daily until 2 pm.

Desserts run from $3 to $6, and include Green Tea Ice Cream, Key Lime Cheese Cake, Tempura Ice Cream and Japanese Chocolate Cake.

Entrees run from $10 to $16, but are in hefty portions and are all delicious. Salads are $3-$3.50, and the Kid's Menu offers meals for $4.

Hiro's sushi has a variety of different prices. An order of 8 California Rolls is $4.85, and the rolls are much bigger than the average sushi roll. But if you decide to get an eel roll, shrimp roll, scallop roll, (you get the idea) the price goes up. But nothing over $8 an order.

Service:
The service is amazing here, truly and fully. Your order is ready in 15-20 minutes, whether you are dining in or taking out.

The staff is super friendly, very attentive and talkative.

The food is served fresh and delicious, and drinks are filled promptly.

Food & Menu:
Every kind of sushi you could imagine, along with plenty of traditional Japanese dishes.

From chicken and beef teriyaki, to ginger beef and pork, to chicken karaage, and saba shioyaki.

I haven't yet tried something I didn't love at Hiro's.

Specialties and My Favorites:

I know it's a bit generic, but my favorite thing to get here is the Deluxe Miso Soup and 2 orders of California Rolls.

The Deluxe Miso Soup is a big bucket of soup with clams (in shell), broccoli, mushrooms, cabbage, and bell peppers. It's truly delicious!

The California Rolls are big, and have Crab Rangoon in them, which just makes it all the better! It's served with wasabi, ginger and soy sauce. Mmm!

The Yakiniku (Japanese for "grilled meat"), is delicious. Thinly sliced beef, stir-fried in a Japanese barbecue sauce and accompanied with white rice, Japanese mashed potatoes (with carrots and cucumbers in them), lettuce, a slice of tomato, and 2 slices of orange.

The Gyoza (fried or steamed dumpling) is delicious, and the Deep Fried Oysters are amazing, getting rid of that gooey snotty consistency and replacing it with a crispy texture.

The Japanese Chocolate Cake is exquisite.. They make it with Ginger, and it is just so luscious and creamy.

The Nabeyaki Udon noodle bowl is also one of my favorites.. Soup noodles with chicken, shrimp tempura, tofu, a steamed fish cake, green onions, enoki & shitake mushrooms. It's delicious!

I give Hiro's 5 stars!
