His Compassionate Love

Lisa R. Strong
He is robed in white;
His nail-scarred hand is raised;
Ready to give His blessing;
To all who trust in Him;
Rays of grace abound;
From His Tender Heart;
Pierced for you and me;
From death our souls are freed;
With a contrite heart, I approach;
Falling on my knees;
God forgive my weakness;
This is what I pray;
His Holy Word echoes in my ears;
"Come to me, all who labor and are burdened;
And I shall give you rest;
For I am meek and humble of heart;"
Lord I am not worthy;
In my brokenness, I cry;
I heard my master say;
In His gentle way;
That He loves me too;
And my eyes are opened;
To His inexhaustible mercy;
And to the compassionate love of God;
For all of His creation;
But especially for His sons and daughters;
Whom He loves most of all

Dear readers...This is a meditation poem that I wrote to celebrate God's mercy for all who ask it of Him in a spirit of repentance...the entire scripture that I used can be found in Matthew 11: 28-30. NAB.
